My family and I, first discovered Taqueria Hernandez in 2002 while living in Rogers Park. Shortly after, we moved away and hardly ever found ourselves in the area. Yesterday happened to be my first time visiting Taqueria Hernandez in 22 years and I found myself tasting the same quality tacos I had when I was 5 years old. To put it blatantly, I want it to be known that in my close to 28 years of living, I have yet to find better tasting tacos de lengua anywhere else in the US. Pictured below is my plate which consisted of: 1 taco de lengua, 1 torta de asada and 1 sope de asada. Ultimately, if you ever find yourself visiting Chicago, do yourself the favor and check this place out. I promise you will not be disappointed.

If you’re in the Rogers Park area and you want some good authentic tacos stop by Taqueria Hernandez. I came here off of a recommendation as to who has the most flavorful Carne Asada tacos and they didn’t disappoint. With the taco dinner get two tacos as opposed to the three other places, but it’s really good and the staff was friendly.

I stopped by here at the recommendation of my hair dresser. The tacos were really delicious hard to eat without a fork. Ground beef and avocados. I always enjoy the sangria. The waiter and the cook were so pleasant and I enjoyed my sit down here.
