La Catedral Cafe Little Village — dependable mexican in Little Village. The noise level tells you everything you need to know. The food tastes like it should, with no compromises. "The coffee was smooth and just right, the fresh orange juice… wow, one of the best I’ve had" — Moises Treviño Garcia

“The combo of flavors was wild, the eggs, the chorizo and potatoes, that hidden fried tortilla under the beans, all of it stacked up into these perfect bites”

We came here after some posts on Instagram, we wanted to support the Little Village community given the state of things right now. Best chilaquiles I’ve ever had and the pancakes were super fluffy and perfect. Also, I love the enormous cup of coffee novelty. We definitely will come back!

“⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ An Authentic Sanctuary of Mexican Flavors in Chicago.”
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ An Authentic Sanctuary of Mexican Flavors in Chicago! Catedral Cafe is a true hidden gem that offers more than just a meal—it offers a transportive experience. Step inside and leave the bustling Chicago streets behind; you've entered a serene, beautifully appointed space that feels like a peaceful sanctuary. The walls, adorned with stunning religious iconography and traditional Mexican artwork, create an atmosphere that is both reverent and warmly inviting. It’s the perfect setting for a quiet moment of reflection or a heartfelt conversation. But the true divinity here is found on the menu. Let's start with the Café de la Olla. This is not just coffee; it's a ritual in a cup. Brewed with cinnamon and piloncillo sugar, each sip is a warm, aromatic, and deeply comforting embrace. It’s the kind of soul-warming drink that you crave on a chilly morning or as the perfect finish to any meal. Without a doubt, it's the best Café de la Olla I've found outside of a Mexican abuela's kitchen. And the delights don't stop there. Their natural juices are an absolute revelation. Fresh, vibrant, and bursting with real fruit flavor, they are the perfect antidote to overly sweetened, artificial drinks. The entire experience is elevated by the genuinely kind and welcoming staff who make you feel like an honored guest in their home. Catedral Cafe is a blessing to Chicago's dining scene. It’s a place where beautiful decor, soulful food, and authentic drinks come together to create something truly special. If you're searching for an authentic taste of Mexico and a respite for your soul, this is your destination. Your search for the perfect Café de la Olla ends here. This place is nothing short of heavenly.

“Literally so worth your money.”
Literally so worth your money. When they say large they mean it. First of all they ask if there are any mobility issues which is very valid and appreciated, not many places will ask that or take it into account. Got the Rompope Cappuccino (and I don't really like coffee) and it was so so so good. Big portion sizes and totally worth your money. Wish I lived closer because that Cappuccino was bomb.

“I’ve been meaning to try La Catedral Cafe for years and finally made it.”
I’ve been meaning to try La Catedral Cafe for years and finally made it. Totally worth it. This is the kind of spot you want to hit first thing in the morning and just soak in the vibe. The whole place is on theme with church-style decor on every wall, feels like you’re sitting in a little chapel. I ordered the chef’s favorite, La Catedral. The coffee was smooth and just right, the fresh orange juice… wow, one of the best I’ve had. But the dish itself was the star. The combo of flavors was wild, the eggs, the chorizo and potatoes, that hidden fried tortilla under the beans, all of it stacked up into these perfect bites. Rich but balanced. Every forkful had something different going on. The staff was incredibly helpful, and the service was fast for a busy morning. Left full and happy, already planning to come back.

Premier spot in the little village area and has been growing since I've been going the last 15 years, great selection of Mexican breakfast and brunch options. The food will not disappoint, the service is superb and very welcoming and accommodating. I'd recommend this spot to anyone just coming to visit the city, looking for a new spot to try out or just to enjoy a good wholesome bite. La Catedral knows how to do it well 👏

My partner took me here for chilaquiles a few weeks back and we recently returned for lunch. Both times we were seated quickly and the food came equally as fast. Never mind the fact that every thing was delicious. My partner had been here many times and she told me how great the food was. I concur. Gracias, La Catedral!

“I recently went to this restaurant, and from the moment you arrive, they greet you with a warm welcome.”
I recently went to this restaurant, and from the moment you arrive, they greet you with a warm welcome. They have enough tables to serve a large number of people. One thing I didn't like was the coded menu, which you can only see on your phone. I think it was because Covid is over, and they should bring back the menu to give it to customers. The coffee with milk was excellent and enormous. The chilaquiles tasted great. I hope to return soon. Thank you. The waiters were very attentive and friendly.
