The chef is a lady who clearly puts her heart and soul into the food. My girl and I happened on here by chance and decided to go in for a quick bite. We ordered some carne asada tacos. The best tacos we’ve ever had, the quality, ingredients and execution made for an amazing experience. Hell, even their nachos with the house made salsa was amazing. Will definitely come back! Edit: they changed the chef, we came and ordered tacos and they were done very differently. :( still a great place, just feels unfortunate when you happen upon a gem and the glimmer is gone too soon after. S/o to whoever the previous lady chef was!

“I came here with family on a Thursday night.”

I came here with family on a Thursday night. No other customers were present, so we were the only ones. The food is top-notch. I had the birria tacos, and they were so good. The meat was so tender, and the juice you dip the taco in was so flavorful. I highly recommend this place. If I’m ever in the area, I will come again.

Was in the area to visit the Museum of Post Punk and Industrial Music and had some time to kill. My wife chose this spot because of the many vegan and vegetarian options. I was impressed with the menu offerings and the food was terrific. Perfect for a couple of hungry travelers, such as we were. I had some pork tacos and my wife vegetable tacos; both were tasty. Very satisfying.

“This is not your normal taco place.”

This is not your normal taco place. You need to try this. Normally I feel greasy with Mexican food. The sauce and flavor are well balanced! Meat is tender and flavorful! Service is awesome! And there is Vegan options!

“El Taco Azteca is so good.”

El Taco Azteca is so good! The name hasn't changed yet on the outside, but don't be fooled, they have the same menu as their restaurant in pilsen. Not only does the food look beautiful, it tastes just as good as it looks! We got the pork belly guacamole, of course the Coca-Cola tacos to impress our mother-in-law from out of town, and I got the Creole potato vegetarian tacos. All of their tacos are layered with so much flavor! A lot of different textures too which I always appreciate about them. Also, handmade tortillas. My favorite was the shrimp empanadas! We had a party of 8 on a Friday evening. The service was great. It is BYOB. We had 3 appetizers. And all an entire. The food came out one or two at a time, but it was very well presented and very tasty. The menu has great vegetarian and vegan options (more than a couple of items). The whole bill was about $160 without tip. I would certainly eat here again.

Delicious menu with great options that you can’t find elsewhere. They are also BYOB! The award-winning Coca Cola tacos were above and beyond. We enjoyed everything from the enchiladas tres moles to the guacamole with mango. We will be back!

“Wow we are very impressed!”

Wow we are very impressed!! Especially by the extensive vegetarian/vegan menu options (I don't eat meat). It's always fun to eat somewhere that puts effort into the non-meat options. I had the Patatas Criollas tacos - I literally can't wait to come back and try the other options. Food was yummy, flavorful, freshly prepared, colorful, not terribly spicy, and just plain tasty! Portions good for the price, not too big but not too small. BYOB makes for a really reasonably priced meal. Women owned (?) which is also really fun 😊

Listen. I visited because I was with a friend and her coworkers. I have never heard of this place. My first concern was if there would be anything tasty for a vegan/vegetarian. Girl...the avocado burrito is chef's kiss delicious. It's hard to get vegan/vegetarian options that meet the African American seasoning standards. The kitchen at Adelitas understood the assignment. I could not believe how well-seasoned the beans and rice were and then topped with an incredible sauce. It is all love in the food at Adelitas.
