“I'd give it 10 stars if I could. Really glad this place is in the neighborhood. Outstanding food and service, carne en su jugo is magnificent. My wife and I can't wait to come back!”

“Tlayuda con Carne is one of the best things I’ve had in the city period. Ahogada with chile arbol base was quite good too. A cochinita pibil taco is the perfect compliment to any dish as well. Never had a huarache before but I was not disappointed. Great spice levels to everything with friendly and attentive service. Will be back for the micheladas.”

“Ive been on the hunt for good Carne en Su Jugo and heard Chile Toreado was the best. Let me tell you, they weren’t lying. The carne en Su jugo was so flavorful and delicious. The steak is good and tastes charbroiled, which I love! Only thing I wish was that it had more broth, so it could be more soupy. This was more like an Entree, but still delicious nonetheless. I also ordered tacos & rice and beans. 10/10. My daughter had the kids Milanese and mashed potatoes, she loved it!! Everything was cooked to perfection. I think it’s safe to say this is one of the BEST Mexican restaurants I’ve had.”

“Lovely place for great Mexican food in McKinley Park. Wonderful location near Archer. The staff were friendly and had helpful recommendations for food. I ordered their taco dinner (with a Barbacoa, El Pastor, and one Chicken Tinga). Very tasty and reasonably priced. They also have a great brunch menu!”

“We had our backyard-wedding party catered by Chile Toreado and couldn’t be happier! We live blocks away and they’re our favorite neighborhood restaurant so it was extra special for them to be part of our event. Everyone had high compliments of the food and owner Jaime and family helped make the day a great success!”

“Muy buena la comida. Food was good. Ordene un Mexican Skillet y estuvo rico. Las bebidas que probé fueron limonada y un café de olla. Ambos me gustaron. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Prices are very reasonable. There’s scaffolding and construction on the top floor but the restaurant is open. They bring you two sauce types, red and green. I loved the green one, didn’t get to try the red one though, next time I’ll try that one.”

“Chile Toreado was amazing. We found it by accident and was so good we went back the next day with more people. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. The tortillas, sopes, and huaraches had great texture and the meat had great flavor. The cochinita pibil was a standout for me (as a taco or huarache). My wife loved the salad with grilled chicken. The house dressing for the salad was delicious. We enjoyed the margaritas, in particular the tamarindo. We would definitely go back again if we were in the city longer and recommend it to anyone who wants delicious authentic food.”

“I had an early dinner at Chile Toreado in McKinley Park and loved it! The margarita was strong and tasty, and the camarones verdes with chile toreado were fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The shrimp, rice, tortillas, and green beans made a perfect balance without being too heavy. Great food, friendly service, and a cozy vibe—I’ll definitely be back!”

“I got the chicken posole. It was missing the avocado in it therefore I mentioned it to the server and he gladly brought me a little bowl of avocado. Finished the whole pot. It was delicious! Service was great! Atmosphere could get better, feels like it doesn’t match the steep prices.”

“I ordered 2 sopes today. They were good but the reason I’m giving them 3 stars is because I requested no cheese and no sour cream. When I got home instead of enjoying my food right away I had to take off the cheese and sour cream and no one should have to do that especially when it was mentioned on the order. I’ll try them again in the future but please follow instructions. The place didn’t seem busy when I went inside.”
“The best food around!!!!! If these guys are not on a “best of chicago list” yet - they should be. Brunch, lunch & dinner- all superb. So many options and so much flavor. The chicken tinga is outstanding. The huaraches are super fresh. The tortas are seriously the best sandwiches ever. The entrees are refined and delicious. Then, The brunch… I mean. Just go, and go often! Love the new remodel too- dine inside or alfresco. We love you guys! Thank you for being an amazing part of the neighborhood!”
