Open 24 hours, this is a greasy spoon live of place with friendly and quick service. Dining area is pretty limited seating wise and there is no bathroom. Food we got was pretty good, nothing amazing, but the price and potion size were excellent. Definitely worth going to if you're out late or up early.

If you’re looking for cheap but tasty Mexican food, Chavas is the spot. My steak burrito was a great size and came with beans and rice for about $20. My wife got the taco dinner with three different kinds (chicken, tongue, pork) and they were all great. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Food came out quick and was excellent, highly recommend for a quick bite!

Got a late night tostada with spicy pastor this weekend. Super stacked for around $6. Great price for some of the best Mexican in the city. I used to be a regular here when I worked in the area. Quality is still top notch, service is still quick and friendly, and the food hot and spicy just right as always.

For a 24hr restaurant it definitely is a solid Mexican restaurant. Good food, fast & easy service. Restaurant is always clean and they have a parking lot in the back. Security guards on the weekends since it gets really busy.

Chavas has been there for me on many a wayward night in my past always serving as a good choice when options for true late-night sustenance near Humboldt Park/Ukrainian Village dwindle down to a just a few. So it was good to see that after so much time of not stumbling in that the place still holds up. Now I can't speak for all of their offerings but what I do know is that you can get decent steak and pastor tacos, sopes, and burritos at Chavas. Their salsas are a little thin but they have a good taste so I don't mind. There are a couple of bars with high chairs for eating inside but the place gets crowded quickly so you're probably better off just getting your food to go and inhaling it in your car. There's usually plenty of parking out front on Grand Ave and but they also have a huge parking lot if needed. The staff are quick and professional and friendly enough. They have a good system in place for keeping things moving along. Just make sure you keep an ear out for your order number.

So I just had the Chava’s Special delivered to me by Uber. All I can say is WOW ! The portion the spice level the taste, EXCELLENT!!! Next time I’m not in a semi I will personally go to there location for sure 👍

Open 24/7 which is winning off the top! The food is a great option for late-night eats or anytime. They have a nice selection of all day breakfast items as well. The quesadilla was not typical of what I thought it would look like. It's more like an extraordinary taco with lettuce tomatoes and cheese etc. Still very good! I will definitely return.

“I simply loved this place.”

I simply loved this place. The service was fast and friendly. The food was delicious. We ordered a steak burrito and the vegetarian tacos. The food didn’t disappoint. It was delicious. It wasn’t too salty as it is usually the case in restaurants. The salsas were a little too watery, so please Chavas make the salsa thicker. Other than that, we had an excellent experience. So I will be coming back for sure.

I had to come here after hearing about Chavas tacos on the radio station over and over! Highly highly recommended, super cute spot and food was served nice and warm. I opted to ordering the nachos de asada and let me tell you, big portion, well presented and delicious full of bursting flavors. My son opted for the tacos de lengua and I was a bit skeptical of his choice because a lot of people don’t cook it well but boy was I wrong, taco was soft and juicy with a lot of flavor, the tacos de birria as well very tasty. Highly recommend this 24 hour taco joint.
