“The food was delicious and out of the ordinary traditional pasta you don’t usually try at Italian restaurants.”
The food was delicious and out of the ordinary traditional pasta you don’t usually try at Italian restaurants. Angel, the server was very informative and attentive. I will be coming back just for him. Try the Calamari Calamarata for lunch menu. The sauce is delish.

“Rarely do I ever give out five stars but it’s like this place gave me no other option lol ...”
Rarely do I ever give out five stars but it’s like this place gave me no other option lol Atmosphere: the atmosphere and vibe were great. We loved the decor, the open kitchen, the lighting, etc. the service was phenomenal. Service: the server made excellent suggestions, seemed really passionate about the restaurant and was really sweet! We did have a minor hiccup with the food, which I’ll get into below, but the server and the manager handled it with enthusiasm and grace. I overheard the manager speaking with the chef as well and seemed to give really thoughtful (and very polite) constructive criticism for the dish which I thought he handled very graciously. Food: the most important part lol the pictures don’t do it justice 😭 I should’ve taken videos too!We went for dinner so it’s a standalone menu. We had the Black Truffle Puff Bread and Garlic Chili Shrimp for appetizers, the White Truffle Tagliatelle and the Grilled Mediterranean Branzino as entrees, and The Pistachio for dessert. Everything had excellent flavor. Our food came out hot and fresh and there was a lot of care and attention put into the details of the flavor pairings and overall presentation. The only hiccup we had was that the garlic chili shrimp appetizer was very, very salty. The other flavors were amazing but it was too salty to eat, so they prepared that dish for us again. I’m sure that was just a fluke because everything else was perfect. My husband and I have resolved that we need to go back at least 3 more times to try everything on the menu 🤣 I would definitely give this place a try if I were you! If we go back and they switched up on us, I will most certainly edit my review lol but I think it’ll be amazing again! Happy eating everyone 🤩

“Incredibly helpful, knowledgeable, & friendly staff.”
Incredibly helpful, knowledgeable, & friendly staff. Amazing food! I would have liked a wider craft beer selection, but the options were delicious. If you're near the convention center & don't want to travel far, this place is probably your best bet. I would definitely visit again.

“Absolutely fantastic.”
Absolutely fantastic. I’ve come here two days in a row for lunch, and the service and food were both exceptional. Ambience was a high point as well, with a beautiful interior and tasteful selection of music.

“Such a great experience for Chicago fine dining.”
Such a great experience for Chicago fine dining. The food was utterly amazing. Light, refreshing, not at all overwhelming. Our server, Issac, was very friendly & knowledgeable. That atmosphere was perfect for us.

“The food was unique and flavorful—definitely recommend.”
The food was unique and flavorful—definitely recommend. The restaurant was empty, but we could hardly hear our server because it was like he was whispering. He was VERY attentive throughout the restaurant, making sure each table setting throughout the restaurant was perfectly aligned, and I appreciate that attention to detail. The server's initial question was for still or sparkling water but didn't inform us about the charge for a 1 liter Pellegrino bottle, which was fine but I'd appreciate that information at the time of his asking. Black Truffle Puff Bread: Hot (which I like), oily bread is almost always enjoyable. This is a must-try once because it's different, but probably not something I'd get again and again. The recipe hasn't changed since 1948 (iirc). Calamari Calamarata: This was visually interesting and very well done. I'd eat the dish with or without the seafood, which was good. The Pistachio: I don't generally like pistachio ice cream, but the pistachio cake/cookie on the bottom and the candied pistacios on top were very good. Eating all 3 together was very nice. I do not understand what the top of the dish was for—maybe to keep it cold if I want to take a break? Employee Health Care & Benefits charge: Why is this 5% fee added to my check without sufficient advanced notice? This seems in poor taste, especially for a restaurant of this caliber. Sure, we want all employees to have adequate benefits, but just charge the necessary price instead of sneaking in a 5% upcharge. Is this REALLY going to employee benefits or is it a way to charge more than a commonly charged card transaction fee percentage. After checkout (researching to write this review), it says in tiny, faded-out print on the bottom of the menu that this can be removed upon request but doesn't say it goes to employee benefits. We ate at a few restaurants around the area of different cuisines, and this was our favorite.

“Great variety of tapas-style starters — fresh, flavorful, and well presented.”
Great variety of tapas-style starters — fresh, flavorful, and well presented. The selection was diverse and enjoyable, perfect for sharing. The truffle puff bread was tasty but slightly too salty for our liking. Staff were friendly and attentive throughout. It was quite hot inside and a bit noisy, which took away slightly from the overall comfort, but the food made up for it.

“I have heard multiple times that this place was good, but never realized where it was, or how...”
I have heard multiple times that this place was good, but never realized where it was, or how reasonable the menu is priced compared to the quality and ambiance you get. Major bonus points for partnering with InKind and having a reasonable corkage fee. It means I can have an affordable burger with wine from home, and make an excellent night of it, or I can splurge on the fantastic drinks, amazing apps, and fenominal dessert during a nice date night. This place has nailed the balance of west loop flare with south loop value. The staff were very personable and friendly, which more than makes up for the common and forgivable hiccups that can happen. The ambiance is nice and fresh for the area, and Oliver's around the corner compliments the design esthetic. Tldr I love finding more places like this since moving to south loop and am looking forward to coming back. I also appreciate the willingness to accommodate allergies with notice.

“Our last night in Chicago we found this restaurant within walking distance from our conference...”
Our last night in Chicago we found this restaurant within walking distance from our conference center and said, why not give it a try? I’m so glad we did because this is yet another Italian/Mediterranean place that has won my heart and makes me want to visit Chicago again just so I can eat more of this food. The decor and food presentation is very modern and sleek but also tastes good. The happy hour menu is a great deal to try some smaller plates and they also have a chef dinner course that is a great deal. The highlights of my meal was my sausage pasta and the pistachio dessert. The pasta was rich, sausage flavorful, and the tomato sauce brought it all together. I felt like I was in Italy. And I didn’t know what to expect with the pistachio dessert but it was subtly flavored and at the bottom of the pistachio ice cream there was pistachio cake! Definitely a must have for pistachio lovers or if you want something light and not too sweet as a finisher. Again, I seriously want to go back to Chicago just so I can try more of this restaurant’s food items. It’s just that good!

“I normally don't leave written reviews, but we enjoyed our dinner so much from beginning to end that I had to.”
I normally don't leave written reviews, but we enjoyed our dinner so much from beginning to end that I had to. Lili was very attentive, the food delicious, and the music was a vibe altogether. We had the classic tasting menu and also had the amazing potato and red lentil soup. We would have ordered the house-made puff pastry that came with the soup alone multiple times if we could. We're already thinking about when we can go back to try their other dishes!
