This BBQ stands out by using the oak charcoal instead of gas. The meat came out so delicious and with bonfire smoke. We ordered marinated chicken and beef tong. Totally recommended place to visit, especially if that is you first time trying Korean bbq.

I was excited to try this restaurant because I prefer old school Korean places. I was NOT disappointed! All the banchan was good. The galbi & samgyeopsal were high quality and seasoned well. The Korean ahjumma who served us was really nice :) It’s on the pricier side, but I thought it was worth it.

We ordered the beef brisket and marinated thin sliced beef short ribs, and both were incredibly fresh and flavorful. The kimchi stew with tofu and pork was rich, delicious, and packed with authentic taste. The lady who took care of us was beyond amazing, so attentive and kind. You can truly feel the warmth of a family owned business here. We’ll definitely be back to support them again.

This was a really great KBBQ option coming back from the airport into the city. Good amount of banchan and the ajumma handled the cooking for us. IMO a leg up over Cho Sun Ok for a couple reasons, namely no wait, good service, and the charcoal smoke infusing the meat with more flavor. Hoping this community stalwart keeps going strong

One of the few places left in the city that uses charcoal instead of gas for Korean BBQ. Great cuts of meat, nice array of side dishes, and great service. It is located just off the intersection of Lincoln Avenue & California Avenue and, given its small size, you could blink and miss it. But if you manage to find it, the place is absolutely worthwhile.

We came here on a Saturday for dinner without a reservation and did get a table, but I think there were people waiting by the time we left. This seemed like a pretty authentic spot, the meat was very good quality and the service was really nice! We got the galbi which was very good, the brisket which was good and that was enough meat for 3 of us! We also got some dumplings and the cold noodles, they were good too! There was a good variety of banchans as well, would recommend checking this place out!

This is THE best Korean BBQ in Chicago. Prepare yourself for exquisitely tender and deliciously marinated galbi infused with impossible to imitate smoke flavor from grilling over charcoal. The banchan are super fresh. We will be making the drive up from the city because you just can’t find quality like this there. Our waitress was excellent and friendly, often checking in on us if we needed refills on our banchan and swapping out our grill.

Most delicious we’ve had so far with KBBQ in Chicago! We got the brisket and Galbraith for two persons, and were so stuffed we couldn’t even move. The grill is a charcoal grill, which was an amazing added flavor to the meat, you get soup and lots of sides! Be careful, we dropped a piece of meat through the grill! 😭

This place has the best galbi tang! The bbq is grilled on top of charcoal. The side dishes were delicious! This place also has a small parking lot. I highly recommend.

a very cozy place, with a family atmosphere. the charcoal grill adds a layer of deliciousness you can't get with gas. the portions were great, too. we had 1 galbi, 1 sait sal and a large veggie pancake for 3 adults and it was plenty. very friendly service. definitely recommend!
