Go Goo Ma — established korean in Hoffman Estates with a loyal following. Traditional preparation with honest flavors. Friendly without hovering, and family-run. Michelle Foy: "The service was very friendly and the food was made to order and it’s fresh"

We showed up for lunch while attending a convention. There were no more than 8 customers waiting before us.
DON’T WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY. This is not a typical Korean restaurant in its style, but more like a Chinese carryout.

“Mom and pop Korean restaurant.”
Mom and pop Korean restaurant! The flavors were great and everything was cooked very well. It was so cute seeing the owner cook in the back himself and all the attention he put into each dish. Will definitely return!

“Home style Korean dishes.”
Home style Korean dishes. Generous portion. Just like my Mother-in-law's cooking, and she is good. Though their dole-sote bi-bim-bop is very delicious. Hope she doesn't mind me saying so.

“The food was really good and it was authentic, probably a hidden gem.”
The food was really good and it was authentic, probably a hidden gem. The owner was really friendly and he seemed really hardworking bc he was the only one running the kitchen and the counter. The cheol-pan dishes are good and my mom who was a korean liked the soondubu (soft tofu) stew. The music is also a good touch, I liked the classical music.

“Go Goo Ma Korean Restaurant is a real hidden gem of a place.”
Go Goo Ma Korean Restaurant is a real hidden gem of a place. The place has easy parking right in front. The dining room is spotless and offers comfortable seating. Even if you’re not familiar with Korean food, they have pictures of all the entrees coinciding with a number and spelled out in English so it’s very easy. We ordered the Beef Stew with noodles #10 & Sweet & Sour Sizzling Chicken #6. They both came with a couple delicious bon chon (side dishes) as well as a nice dish of rice and my chicken even had a little bowl of soup! The service was very friendly and the food was made to order and it’s fresh. They also provide free buckwheat tea which is really nice in cold months and iced tea in summer. Both entrees were very good and served steaming hot. The stew was in a bowl that kept it hot while eating. The sizzling chicken came out on a heated platter with the sauce on the side to drizzle. Portions are plentiful, authentic and delicious. This is a very nice place to relax and enjoy a meal as it’s pretty quiet inside.

“This has been my favorite place to go to since I moved to Schaumburg.”
This has been my favorite place to go to since I moved to Schaumburg. It’s become a comfort food for sure! Whether you get take out or eat in, it’s always fresh. Friday nights can be busy, but having patience with the owner (the cook) is worth it! I brought my family and they can be picky with food, but they enjoyed it a lot!

“This is a self-serve korean restaurant that serves a limited but tasty menu.”
This is a self-serve korean restaurant that serves a limited but tasty menu! Their squid dolsot was flavorful with carrots, peppers, carrots, and onions and served with seasoned sprouts and shredded lettuce. Simple banchan but soooo tasty! Would recommend if you're looking for a casual restaurant vibe!

“First time coming here and the food is absolutely amazing.”
First time coming here and the food is absolutely amazing! Everything is delicious and tastes so fresh! I'm absolutely looking forward to coming back again! I got the cold noodles and I loved it. The rice cakes are also exactly what I was craving. Just the right level of heat.
