It deserves the 5 stars. You can tell this is made on the spot, fresh, tasty and very authentic. Will be coming again. Some of the dishes we had, (all recommended): -Gyoza -Taiwan Style Tonkotsu Ramen -Imagawa Yak -Takoyaki -Katsu Don -Ramune (this is a very interesting drink, flavor is special)

Love this place! If you want to be away from big crowds at Mitsuwa or Tensuke Market especially on the weekends, please visit Sozai Banzai! Food is fresh, staff is friendly, and it just feels cozy. Prices are pretty affordable. I had the beef udon and it was tasty!

Love the food and it’s on point all the time. We love the chashu ramen and bento box entree. Pork tonkatsu is juicy and crispy on the outside. My hubby likes the chicken karaage and Taiwanese Style Tonkatsu Ramen. The price is reasonable. I’ve seen japanese people eat here so it must be authentic! This is a hidden gem. You wont notice it right away while driving by Golf Rd but it’s a must try.

Sozai Bonzai is a Delicious little Food Oasis!! Thank you so much @sylvia_swk for recommending this place! Finally made it here and beyond Stoked I did! I liked the Feel and Vibe as soon as I walked in. Service was Outstanding and very welcoming. What I Ordered: Ebi: Best Ebi I have ever had so far. Fried to Perfection and Still so Tender on the Inside. I have not ever had it served with Tartar Sauce Before. Awesomeness!! Could have eaten a cup of it. lol! Croquette: Again, Perfect Fry and Tasty! Pork Katsu Curry: 3 for 3 on The Perfect Fry on The Katsu! First time having Japanese Style Curry. Big Fan now! More of a Warm Hug kind of Spice Level. Delicious! Can't wait to go back Get Some!

This hidden gem in a strip mall is truly a delight! The cashier is exceptionally polite and welcoming, making the experience even better. The food is absolutely phenomenal—so delicious that I’m already planning to order two entrées next time. The chicken katsu is perfectly crispy and bursting with flavor, while the udon noodles are rich and packed with savory goodness. The side dishes complement the meal beautifully, offering a balanced mix of sweet, salty, and citrusy flavors. A must-try spot for Japanese cuisine lovers!

I’ve lived in Japan for 10 years and I am ecstatic to find a real Japanese set meal provider which doesn’t compromise on food quality or jack up prices unreasonably. This is a true home away from home in the Chicago area. Food is true to tastes in Japan and once again, the prices are very reasonably set. Can’t wait to try the rest of the menu!
