“A cute little market that has delicious sushi”
A cute little shop located in the heart of Evanston, a few blocks away from Northwestern.
I have no idea why people thought this was fresh sushi.
My wife ordered sushi rolls here, although they taste good but the preparation took 30 minutes.

“Really good spot to grab some Japanese groceries and to enjoy a good meal.”
Really good spot to grab some Japanese groceries and to enjoy a good meal! Had good sushi and sashimi, pretty good quality and well prepared. Also had the chirashi udon combo( what a great deal (fish bowl AND an udon bowl) for $10. Sheesh. In THIS economy? Good food at a great price in a nice environment with good vibes? AND you can pick up some snacks afterwards? Can’t complain!

“My goodness what a wonderfully fresh and delicious place.”
My goodness what a wonderfully fresh and delicious place. I felt like I was back on the west coast. So many amazing veggie options. The inari tofu was so delicate and the sushi rice was the perfect texture. I wish I took more pics to share. This is comfort sushi at its best. This will be my new go to spot.

“Such a cozy and delicious spot for sushi.”
Such a cozy and delicious spot for sushi. My husband is a big sushi lover, but as a vegetarian, I usually struggle to find a place where my rolls don’t end up tasting fishy, like they were made in the same prep area. This is the very first place where I can truly enjoy fresh, flavorful vegetarian sushi that tastes amazing on its own. I always order #15. The inari are my absolute favorite, I adore them. The staff here are always so sweet, patient, and helpful. I work just a few steps away, so I come by regularly, and every visit is a consistently great experience.

Was pleasantly surprised by my last visit to Sea Ranch - their sushi has improved and the rice was perfectly sticky and fresh, along with the fish. Big improvement from a year ago while prices have remained reasonable. Thank you Sea Ranch for the improved quality!

“My go-to place for sushi in Evanston.”
My go-to place for sushi in Evanston. Reasonably priced and cozy, and you can order without interacting with anyone by scanning a qr code on a table. High quality fish. Tiny wobbly tablets, the cheapest chopsticks that could give you a splinter, and the fact that you are sitting in a Japanese grocery store just adds a lot to the vibe. Maybe the closest I have been to Japan. You can buy everything you need to make sushi on your own, or bunch of essential Japanese groceries, snacks or drinks. They even have sake! The only thing that bothers me -- Spotify ads. You can't get away from them.

Stopped in for some takeout sushi, walked out with this amazing “Love for Two“ platter. A generous amount of sushi and arranged in a valentine heart.

“I'm going to be honest, I was skeptical.”
I'm going to be honest, I was skeptical. But this sushi is delicious!! I recommend all of the rolls and nigiri we ordered: oshinko, tamago, mango, spicy yellow tail, spicy Mexican, chu toro, and mackerel. The oshinko and tamago were a little smaller than typical but great for the price of only $3 each! They were the perfect intro sushi for our kids who loved them. This is probably a new favorite of ours!

“A no-frills, cozy little spot, serving up fresh sushi.”
A no-frills, cozy little spot, serving up fresh sushi. Order at the cashier, pay, then have a seat at one of their tables or take it to-go. I ordered to-go. Will def be back for more. They sell Japanese groceries, snacks, and condiments as well— prices a bit higher than big Asian supermarkets, but that’s to be expected. Support your local, small businesses, if you’re able! **highly recommend the fatty tuna roll.

“The place is great.”
The place is great. Food is wonderful. This sushi is amazing. Order without spicy. The waiter told me how to drink tea, but I don't know how to use the machine :( there are many food options. I'll definitely be a place to come back. Pd: Gozilla and Dragon is the pic.
