“Fabulous dining experience! The food was divine, service spectacular, and loved the overall vibe!”

“this place is the best!! my gf and i have been several times now and it’s our favorite spot. there’s not a ton of seating inside and the atmosphere is a bit different than you might expect - you order at the counter. But the pasta can’t be beat.”

“I was in a rush so I tried the tagliatelle to-go. They were fantastic. Next time I will dine-in. Great to chat with Dario about Italy and Sicily. You know a place is good when the founder is there. Authentic Italian and good quality”

“Update 5/2026 Tortello is still amazing! Every time I am in Chicago, it is a must go to restaurant. All the pasta is delicious, service is excellent, and I love the take home meal kits. Seriously, so good that I figured out how to pack it to fly home with a meal kits. 😊 Everything is delicious and the atmosphere is cozy. Love the tortelli di burrata, focaccia, and fennel, celery, & orange salad. Seriously, cannot go wrong with anything from Tortello!”

“This restaurant has the best Italian cuisine I have ever eaten, hands-down! Every appetizer and main dish was cooked to perfection and had exquisite flavor. This is the third time I’ve dined here and the quality is consistent every time. Tortello is very busy and the noise level is moderately loud, but that would not stop me from dining here again in a heartbeat at any given opportunity. The staff is extremely attentive, efficient, and knowledgeable regarding the menu. In addition to the food, the wine and the coffee are also second to none! Take the time to speak to the owner, Dario, if you have the time. He has a such a touching story about how Tortello began. We got a photo with him this time.”

“First time here and it was amazing. Pasta was fresh and the best I have ever had. The tiramisu and the Nutella donuts are a 10/10 recommend. Owner was super nice and accommodating as well.”

“We took the pasta making class. Melanie was awesome! Super fun and engaging experience.”

“We ordered the Tagliatelle Tina, Tortelli and a focaccia which were really good. You place your order and pay at the counter inside, take a number for your table, get seated and wait. We went on a Friday night so there was a line outside and the food took a bit to arrive but the staff was kind. Highly recommended sitting outside when it’s crowded (weather-permitting).”

“The best Italian restaurant I’ve ever been to. If you’re in Chicago, don’t skip this place. Cacio e Pepe was excellent. The Focaccia and Ricotta melt in your mouth.”

“Beautiful handmade pasta being made in the window facing the street invites you into this small gem of a restaurant. Order at the counter off a menu board, then grab a seat outside at the patio or inside at one of the tables in this long narrow space. Great small menu. We got the Pizza Frita , Focaccia Ricotta and Honey , Tagliatelle Tina and the Tiramisu. All were fantastic. My stand out was the Pizza Frita. Don't forget a spritz or 2 while you are there.”
