Food was amazing and atmosphere was wonderful. Although I’d rate it 4.5 instead of 5 if Google let me. Due to the table I was sat at, it felt like it took longer for me as a solo diner to get the same treatment as the table next to me that had two diners and was sat at the same time (bread came out later, table wasn’t dressed the same, a couple table-side options not offered). But it was a minute spot on an otherwise great time.

We really enjoyed our Christmas dinner at Ascione! We ordered from the Christmas special menu. Both choices, Halibut and New York Strip Steak, were excellent! The food came to the table hot, which is very important! Both dishes were seasoned to perfection! We ahared a tiramisu, which was delicious! The wait staff was very attentive, accomodating and a pleasure to interact with throughout the meal! Thank you Ascione for an Awesome experiencs! Looking forward to my next visit!!

“Nice upscale Italian restaurant.”

Nice upscale Italian restaurant. We showed up without a reservation but they squeezed us in if we made it quick. Got the carpaccio and Fiorentina steak. It was absolutely amazing. Best piece of meat I've had in quite a while, perfectly cooked. The sides were awesome too. Friendly Italian waiters made it fun. Definitely worth it.

Plan ahead for parking - there is a Trader Joe nearby with sufficient parking & easily walk to the restaurant. Service was excellent, the team works very well together regardless if you sit inside or outside. Food was well prepared & hot when served outside. Expect quite a bit of foot traffic around you if you sit outside. Wine & Cocktail selections were very good.

This is a fairly small place but their lobster ravioli is full of flavor. The cognac sauce is creamy and the lobster filled ravioli was nicely filled and very tasty. Ill need to stop in again as I was kind of in a rush to get to my real destination in The Loop. But kudos for the fast service!!

“Such an experience.”

Such an experience! Good was AMAZING (make sure to ask about off-menu options!) Lobster ravioli, crab cakes with truffle fries, branzino with wilted spinach and crispy Brussels sprouts. Even the bread and oil were DELISH~ Our server/bartender Mickey was so attentive and guided us through the menu from cocktails to dessert! A Hyde Park staple!

Updating my review as I've finally had the chance to dine in person! There is no reason you shouldn't eat here. Each part of every dish has a reason for being on the plate. My server Toni was great. He checked in with me throughout every course, helped me decide between sides as well as my drink. I ordered the San Daniele Prosciutto & Burrata (MP $24 as of 5/21/25) the Burrata was not as runny/creamy as I expected, but still delicious. The balsamic reduction and pomegranate seeds cut through the fatty cheese and "dry" prosciutto, and the arugula tied it all together. The Passion Mule was sweet, fruity, with an undertone of citrus. The Branzino (MP $38 as of 5/21/25) was spectacular. I will never ever order Branzino from anywhere else. It was tender, with perfectly crisp skin and accompanied by a butter lemon sauce (if it was darker I'd think it was hollandaise) and sauteed garlic spinach. The Italian parsley and tomatoes balance the decadent flavors perfectly. I'm not even a fan of tomatoes but I found myself scooping some into every bite. The Arancini di Ascione was earthy with a pronounced truffle flavor. I will definitely be returning. Be advised, there is a slight surcharge for using card as well as an additional 3% that can be removed upon request. Original review from 4 years ago: I had the Pappardelle Al Sugo Di Cinghiale. Doordash delivered the wrong order and wouldn't amend so they took care of it themselves! The sauce was very rich and creamy but it wasn't overbearingly so. I could have used a little bit more salt to bring out the flavors of the meat more but it was still good. The pasta noodles had a nice texture and bite to them they weren't overly mushy or overly hard. The mushrooms were also soft and tender.

Had a nice dinner here a few weeks back after doing some work in the area! Everything I had was excellent and would 100% get again. Highly recommend the Burrata and the lobster ravioli *chef’s kiss*. If you’re in the area and looking for some Italian, look no further! Look forward to coming back and trying some of their other items.

This is my favorite Italy restaurant in Hyde Park and I strongly recommend it to all my friends. It’s so convenient to walk or drive there. You can park your car in the lot besides Trader Joes. We always like the noodles and burgers. Today’s lobster pasta and Chicken burger are pretty good. My husband’s favorite is the Italian chips that’s combined with the burger. The bartender is a really handsome and kind young guy. The service is always welcome and the vibe is chill. Remember to reserve, otherwise you may only have the bar seat or the outdoor seats.

Their Italian fries are the best we've ever tried - always seasoned well and cooked just right. The burger and chicken sandwich were also good. The pancakes were not too sweet which was great. The service is also pretty quick. Only complaint is about the coffee. We've been here a few times - sometimes they refill the coffee, sometimes they don't. So I'm not sure if they just ignored us during the other times.
