“Stumbled upon this hidden gem from listening to advice from a Northshore “foodie”. Nothing less than excellent. I was a little concerned at first because usually at good ethnic restaurants you will see those with the same ethnicity which for some reason make me more comfortable…but at this place, it really didn’t matter who was dining. Order was samosa, chana, naan (garlic) Taj Mahal beer, tandoori chicken and chicken tiki and peas palou. For desert…mango ice cream. Deeeeeelish!”

“Excellent food, family business with great service. Worth the wait, quite a nice experience. Gluten free!”

“Excellent and delicious place with great lighting & ambience! Caring and attentive waitstaff. Vibrant flavors, very unique & plentiful. This place is a gem.”

“Great food and atmosphere. Nice interiors and very professional service. We loved the Village Goat Curry - if you can handle bone in goat it's wonderful. We tried the butter chicken and also had a wonderful dish of stewed cauliflower, potatoes in a saffron or curry spicy. Not to be missed is there naan. Fresh baked to order and comes in a ton of different variations. We had the onion garlic naan and it was great. Will definitely be back. The menu is... enormous if I tell you there are 100 items I am probably not exaggerating. But our server was a good guide and gave the perfect recommendations.”

“19 Jun 2025 TAVA Fresh Taste of India is a fantastic lunch spot! We ordered salmon tandoori, chicken makhani, lamb masala, garlic naan, and basmati rice — and everything was delicious. The salmon was perfectly cooked, and the lamb was tender and flavorful. The highlight was the chicken makhani; its rich, creamy sauce was absolutely divine. The garlic naan was warm, soft, and full of flavor, perfect for scooping up the sauces. The ambiance was relaxing and inviting, making it a great place to unwind during lunch. Service was excellent — attentive but not intrusive. Highly recommended for anyone craving authentic Indian cuisine!”

“We came here for Father’s Day & it was wonderful! Service is great & the food is super tasty , HUGE portions! We have been coming here for years & it is one of the best restaurants in Morton Grove for sure”

“The paneer lababdar here was simply amazing, served fresh and bursting with flavor. The roti was also freshly made and delicious. The ambiance makes for a pleasant dining experience. My only downside was that the waiter seemed to be rushing me to place my order. I walked in at 8:15 pm, and they close at 9 pm, so I understand the timing, but it still felt a bit hurried. Overall, the food is excellent but the service could be a little more relaxed.”

“I loved the atmosphere in this restaurant it is gorgeous! I felt like I was walking into a Michelin restaurant with top chefs. But that is where it stops. The food for some reason tasted gamey to me. I had the butter chicken and my friend ordered a masala, we also got an appetizer sampler which was pretty good except for the lamb. I also ordered the Lassi Madness drink which was awesome, perfect blend of mix with coconut cream. Our waitress seamed like she didn’t want to be there or like something serious happened to her and was not feeling her job that day. There was another lady that was there that was very pleasant and checked in a couple times. I’d go again and try something else to see if the flavors change for me and I will update this review.”

“I’m confused about TAVA. The saag paneer, chicken tikka masala, spicy lamb masala, naan and basmati rice were very good, flavorful etc. But the veggie momo tasted rotten. The bottom of the pan was filled with rotting lettuce. We called TAVA and asked for a refund on the momo. They didn’t seem at all concerned about the rotting lettuce. We asked again for a refund. They said we would have to DRIVE 30 mins back and forth to return the food, and only then would they consider a refund!!!! It was $17. This food was INEDIBLE. It was below freezing outside. I’m disgusted and will never go here again. You eat some rotting lettuce next time :) also, we dropped over $100 at this place.”
