Il Milanese Ristorante
Il Milanese Ristorante — one of North Center's strongest italian spots. Nothing about this place is trying to impress you, and that's the point. The bar is worth the visit on its own. Colleen Blackburn: "The Carbonara was so rich and creamy" [patio]

“By far the best italian restaurant in Chicago. Pasta is superb, Italian risotto ossobuco and Costoletta are a must have that you would not find elsewhere”

“🤌🏻🤌🏻🤌🏻🤌🏻🤌🏻 Great spot for authentic Italian. Nice without being particularly formal, and lively without being overly loud for most demographics. Service makes you feel right at home. We ordered a couple dirty martinis that were not made dirty, but the staff swiftly made the switch. Good people working here! Order the fugazza focaccia. 🤌🏻🤌🏻🤌🏻🤌🏻🤌🏻”

“We love going to Il Milanese! Yesterday, we went to celebrate my birthday and I wouldn't have picked any other place because of the bartender Rudy. Rudy is amazing and the reason my friend and I go to this restaurant. We always sit at the bar. Rudy being the best is just the icing on the cake because the food is delicious. In all honesty, I've only ever gotten the carbonara but that's because it's fantastic! We usually get the meatballs and a dessert as well. The meatballs this time were different. If memory serves me right, they used to be served in a cast iron and more round. Now, I think they were just served in a regular crock and honestly they weren't AS good but they were still good. The berry sorbet is my favorite, it's so light and refreshing. The tiramisu is very traditional, spongy and fantastic. We will be coming back in July to say hello to Rudy and have more delicious food.”

“I can’t say enough good things about Il Milanese! The food is so full of flavor and authentic. Carlo and his team always make me feel welcome, not to mention Rudy who makes the best cocktails! I can’t wait to come back!”

“I haven’t had a dining experience this wonderful in a very long time. The service was impeccable. The food was fantastic. The wine and cocktails were unparalleled. This is one of those instances where you can go big or go small. Do you want to have just a light meal? That’s easy. Stuffed zucchini blossoms and a plate of pasta. A glass of wine and you’re out the door for $50. On the other hand, you can go for the gold and walk away completely sated. Either way, you’ll love this delightful spot.”

“Best Italian restaurant on the north side. The focaccia is amazing. Restaurant gets loud quickly during peak hours. Our server was awesome.”

“This place has the real deal Italian food. It's not cheap, I went during Restaurant Week so I had a good deal and what they offered is not on the regulat menu, but let me tell you, after being disappointed by many an over priced Italian restaurant, this place is well worth the money. It actually delivers on delicious food, portions were also generous. Service was great and the atmosphere was fantastic too. Would return.”

“This place is a MUST. Our server was awesome and very informative. Best Italian we have had. We will be coming back!”

“Il Milanese Ristorante delivered such a great experience for my family and I! The food was amazing and I can’t speak highly enough of the staff! Service was quick and kind, we could not be any more grateful! Come here for an amazing date night or family dinner and you will definitely not be disappointed!”

“Always good. Service is great and friendly staff. Food is wonderful 😋”

“This is a very popular restaurant in the neighborhood. Their signature dish Ossobuco is a must. If you don’t know what you want to eat, their Special of the Day has some good choices. They have a large variety of drinks to offer . We have a good dining time. Reservation is highly recommended.”

“Pretty good. We had to wait 20 minutes after our reservation time for a table to open up but they gave us free bubbly which was nice. We ordered everything at once and they timed it out well. Not pictured is an arugula salad and fried zucchini flowers, both of which were tasty. The tortelloni had pumpkin and a brown butter sauce and the steak was delicious - great crust, good flavor, solidly medium rare.”
