“Omg the food here is SO good. Chicago really does not have that many great Thai places but my pad kee mao from this place is outstanding. And they give a large portion too for a reasonable price!”

“This is a great deal. The food is pretty interesting and well made and the pricing is pretty reasonable. It’s a small place with only a few tables and they do a brisk takeout business. They have some unique items. The chive sticks made with garlic chives and tapioca flour with a sweet soy dipping sauce is interesting and it’s more than what they show on the special menu. Went there before a 8pm show at Second City. And even getting there at 630, the food arrived quickly and the service was quick that we made it.”

“Farm to table exceptionally fresh and delicious Thai cuisine. A true Old Town jewel. Photo disclaimer: we dove into our food so quickly I did not get photos. These are from other diners or sources. If you’re in the area or hungry for traditional Thai food then Hom Mali is where you should be!”

“Everything was great! The food was delicious, and the staff were super nice and polite. Everything was served really fast — loved it!”

“Food and service was great. We had the Drunken Noodles and chicken and beans for lunch with the ice coffee. Everything tastes fresh and authentic as it can be. But you have to try the ice coffee.”

“The Thai food I enjoyed at Hom Mali was salty, buttery, and savory all at once—absolutely delicious. I really appreciate when you can try different cuisine and it stands out with its own unique flavor. Unlike some other Thai places I've tried, Hom Mali had a more homemade feel, both in taste and presentation. It was also aesthetically pleasing, which added to the experience. I did takeout for lunch and the specials were totally worth it—two full meals with drinks for under $20? No complaints here. I'm definitely looking forward to enjoying it again soon.”

“Food here is fire, place should be rated at least a 4.6!! Tom kha was my fave but everything we got was great”

“A delicious, but unknown Thai restaurant to us until early Nov 2024. We were the lonesome diners dining-in at the restaurant on a Friday evening at 6:15pm, but they had a relatively steady set of customers doing take-out. The seating area is very simple and clean. Their tofu Khao Soy was delicious! I would love to go back and also make use of their BYOB.”

“Very tasty and perfect for before a Second City show. The Pad See Iew was fantastic and loved the stir fried veggies. The Penang curry lacked a bit of flavor, I think it needs more kaffir lime leaves. The service was great and I’d return.”

“Picked up five delicious dishes last night, for five people. Everything was very fresh and delicious and made to order. Would definitely return! Only complaint would be portions are slightly small, so no leftovers whatsoever.”
