Highlander House Restaurant & Bar
Highlander House Restaurant & Bar — among the best polish in Palos Heights. The walls could tell stories. Good cocktails round out an already strong menu. "The sauerkraut was very mellow and the stuffed cabbage was mildly seasoned and tender" — Jenna Ritz

“Delicious food, reminiscent of what Grandma used to make.”

“This was my first experience at a Polish delicatessen, and it exceeded my expectations. Everything was delicious, from the shot of vodka to the platter and fresh bread. The service was outstanding, and the atmosphere was cozy, welcoming, and full of character. Our waiter was friendly, courteous, and very knowledgeable, making the experience even more enjoyable. I highly recommend this place and look forward to returning.”

“Went there for my daughter birthday. There where 4 of us that went. We have been here before, because the food was good. That was 2 year's ago. Good to know that the quality of the food hasn't changed. Like so many other restaurants. We went after lunch before dinner”

“(Upgrade after 3 years:) The food is delicious; recently, the meals have improved significantly, and new, interesting dishes have been introduced. All the staff are extremely polite, creating a wonderful atmosphere and a great team!! [The only downside to this wonderful restaurant is unfortunately the behavior of Ms. Paulina, who is very rude and arrogant. She behaves unpleasantly towards both customers and other employees, showing her "superiority" towards them, giving them orders and acting bossy. Please!!…Change your behavior.]”

“Accommodating and friendly staff, excellent food, great drink selection of nonalcoholic and alcoholic beverages, all inside a beautifully decorated establishment full of wall art in tribute to their wonderful, proud Polish heritage.”

“Very good food, nice atmosphere and friendly wait staff. The breaded pork tenderloin is great.”

“I'm not polish but this place makes you want to learn more about polish culture and food. Kind and friendly service, live music (weekends only I think), great drinks selection, amazing food (I recommend the European plater so you can try a bit of everything!) and at a very affordable price. Definitely one of my favorite places in the south suburbs!”

“Ha estado muy bien, pedimos una tabla para 8 y había variedad de comida y muy rico”

“We went for appetizers and dinner. Our appetizer was the grilled garlic shrimp with cherry tomatoes. For dinner my husband had cabbage rolls and I had chicken stuffed with butter and mozzarella. All sides are an additional charge. For those, we had beets with horseradish and petite potato dumplings with bacon. Dessert ended with Crème Brulee - outstanding! Presentation was well done. All was tasty, however light on spices. I believe the food rely’s on ingredients used for flavor. For drinks we enjoyed a strawberry mojito and a Polish beer. Those were good but not necessarily great. Strength's lent itself to the staff, ambience, quaint decor and hands down the extreme cleanliness of the entire restaurant. It’s a one of a kind experience that has been around for a while. I would definitely recommend. One suggestion I would make is to peruse menu prior to going.”
