“My son and I had such a great experience here. We split the strawberry French toast and a scrambled egg. I said we were in a bit of a hurry and they exceeded my expectations. They even gave my son a balloon for his birthday and told him to grab an extra dum dum sucker on his way out to give to me. We were seated immediately and had great service with delicious food! We will be back. I may even try to bring all my kids here solo! It's a rare place that can be this welcoming and accommodating.”

“A good bang for your buck. This spot hits late night or to cure a hangover. Classic diner food.”

“A lovely spot to meet your breakfast craving! They have an expansive diner menu full of omelettes, burgers, desserts, and more! I got the chorizo omelette with a side of hash browns and pancakes and to wash it down - apple juice! It was satisfying, I was wanting a good breakfast meal for a while and Golden Apple delivered! Plus you can’t beat 24 hour availability. They have plenty of space and they are in a beautiful part of the neighborhood directly across from a church built in the 1800s! Free parking in the nearby residential street and paid parking even closer.”

“1st - Golden Apple is excellent. Be sure to give it a try! Now for the fluff. Google nags me to write longer reviews. Google also nags me to use their stupid AI tools. So.. 2 birds / 1 stone: If you are looking for the quintessential Chicago diner experience, look no further than Golden Apple Grill & Breakfast House in Lakeview. Located at the iconic corner of Wellington and Lincoln, this neighborhood staple has been serving up comfort food and nostalgia for decades, and it remains one of the most welcoming spots in the city. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted by that classic, retro diner atmosphere that feels like a warm hug. Whether you’re sliding into a booth for a solo breakfast or gathering with a group of friends after a late night out, the vibe is always friendly and unpretentious. It’s the kind of place where the servers remember the regulars and the coffee stays hot and topped off. The menu is massive, but somehow they manage to do everything right. Their breakfast options are legendary: The Omelets: Fluffy, massive, and filled with fresh ingredients. Pancakes & Waffles: Perfectly golden-brown and served with a generous dollop of butter. Classic Skillets: The ultimate "hangover cure" or just a hearty way to start a Tuesday. If you’re there for lunch or dinner, their burgers and club sandwiches are consistently delicious, offering that "homemade" taste that big chains just can’t replicate. In a city where trendy spots come and go, Golden Apple stays true to its roots. It offers fair prices, massive portions, and genuine hospitality. It’s more than just a restaurant; it’s a community landmark where everyone from college students to long-time residents feels right at home. If you find yourself in Lincoln Park or Lakeview, do yourself a favor and stop by. It’s a delicious slice of Chicago history that never disappoints.”

The staff is friendly and quick, which makes the experience even better. It’s the kind of spot you can count on for a laid-back, satisfying meal any time of day.”

“Could’ve been better but it was typical breakfast food. I give it a 3 bc I got an apple juice they charged me for a large and the cup was the same size as the water cup they gave.”
“Always a solid olace to eat. Especially in the wee hours of the night.”
“This place is a 10 out of 10.
