Flub A Dub Chub's — top-tier american in Lakeview. Nothing about this place is trying to impress you, and that's the point. There's imagination in the cooking here. Family-run, solid veggie options. "The tater tots were a yummy side to one of the best Chicago Dogs I’ve had" — Pat Giancontieri

1/6/26 - Still stand by this review after trying other places The best Chicago dogs because it doesn’t fall apart from the bun. The fries were excellent as well.

“Local gem hotdog/burger spot.”
Local gem hotdog/burger spot! Definitely worth the trek from downtown if your looking for something a little more unique and old school rather than the usual tourist traps but the real gem is the experience. This basement location serves a superb hot dog with amazing snap and generous toppings with fresh cut fries that were just so perfect on the outside with a melt your heart inside. I ordered the Jimmy chili cheese dog chili is homemade amazing flavors. They also have good vegetarian options. The framed drawings on the walls of various hot dogs added attraction. The owner is a gem she's just always pleasant and always has something nice to say to everyone. Don't pass this place up. 100% recommend!

“Had to try the Chicago style hot dog while in Chicago, of course.”
Had to try the Chicago style hot dog while in Chicago, of course! Food - 4.5/5 - I liked this a lot more than I thought it I would! The hot dog was so yummy, on a perfect bun for everything that’s in it. The hot dog itself felt like such better quality too than just a normal one on the street. The tater tots were a nice addition too. Service - 5/5 - The guy at the cashier was so friendly. Went out of his way to give condiments too. Food was super quick too! Ambiance - 5/5 - A quick grab and go spot, with just a few tables to eat in. The variations of the hot dog drawings around the restaurant were nice too. Loved it! Can’t wait to have this again one day!

“Great little spot.”
Great little spot. It’s in the basement. Hot dog with fries - reasonable price. Even charred it like requested. Kids had tots. Pickle was salty and crisp. Two thumbs up. Parking isn’t great but it’s the city - simmer down suburban people waiting in line with me wouldn’t shut up about parking.

“A lovely, hole-in-the-wall hot dog shop.”
A lovely, hole-in-the-wall hot dog shop. Just hot dogs, nothing fancy, but I enjoyed it and the fries were surprisingly crispy and fried to perfection. They had that triple-cooked fries characteristic (look at the picture). I really liked the idea where customers can make flub-a-dub-chub themed drawings and hang them on the wall, and there is a monthly competition as well. It was fun looking around the walls. Some of the drawings are funny and creative! I also appreciated the guy telling me that the snappier grilled beef hot dog uses a casing from pork, something I didn’t know about before. Thank you!

“Was looking around for different places to eat and found Flub A Dub Chub's.”
Was looking around for different places to eat and found Flub A Dub Chub's. For a newbie, menu is a bit overwhelming, but the lovely woman working on a Sat make great order suggestions so I'd enjoy the food and not order too much and not be able to finish. Location is a bit cramped indoors (but that's big city dining for you), and also has outside seating. Location does a brisk business late on a Sat afternoon, so imagine it could get even busier. Food was EXCELLENT, and will gladly eat here again to try more of their items.

Im sorry i dont have any pictures of the food but i was too busy being mesmerized by the walls of art that clients made for the place! I loved it! Food was also delicious! Price is absolutely reasonable! I’m not from Chicago and wanted to try Chicago style hot dogs, I don’t know if this is what it is but I had a blast!
