“Mon Ami Gabi was outstanding. The French onion soup was exceptional, the fresh baguette was perfect, and the cocktails were superb. A classic French bistro that’s well worth a visit in Chicago.”

“Michelle was great! The food is stellar French bistro good. Well made cocktails, great French wine selection and the food is tasty, and served hot and fresh!”

“Food was impeccable! I went for a restaurant week and ordered the escargo and pork chop. As cargo was beautifully tender with garlic and butter and herbs, ten out of ten recommend. The pork chop was seared to perfection and very juicy. Our server wasn't also incredibly kind and uplifting.l, making it a great experience. The only slight drawback was that we experienced 2 tables next to us that had young children and were disruptive, taking away from the dimly lit "french experience."”

“Delicious food, lovely ambience and knowledgeable and attentive server. Really enjoyed!”

“For my birthday, we went out to get a nice steak dinner at Mon Ami Gabi. We started out with a scallop that really got the dinner off right. With a nice glass of wine, you really get the base set for a delicious steak. I got the steak frites. The real highlight is the frites. I’m not sure what they do to the fries but they’re probably the best fries I’ve ever had with a steak. And the best part is that they’re celiac-friendly. For dessert, we finished it off a chocolate mousse. Overall, it made for a magical birthday dinner.”

“Love this restaurant. The escargot was great. Staff were very warm and friendly. The building is exquisite. The ambiance is classy and refined.”

“Mon Ami always delivers an 'experience'. When you walk in you enter another reality. The cozy intimacy and impeccable service are only second to their food. You will NEVER go wrong here, from date-night to impressing out-of-towner's it's money well-spent. I've been to many cozy bistros in Paris and Mon Ami is on par or greater.”

“délicieux! Visited on a Friday without a reservation and waited ~45 minutes on a table for 3. You can grab drinks from the bar and enjoy them in the building lobby while you wait. Loved the spacious patio. Mon Ami Gabi is on a quiet street, making its patio setting unique for Chicagoland restaurants. Service was exceptional. Some of the best I’ve seen in a while. Tried the baguette, oysters, shrimp cocktail, frisée and lardon salad, and hangar steak. Every dish was a hit, especially the frisée and lardon, such a unique flavor combination. One of the best I’ve tried in a while, would recommend for plenty of occasions.”

“The space is very small and we sat extremely close to other patrons. Food was delish and we felt great afterwards despite all the bread and butter.”

“Service is exceptional but the seating is a little tight between tables and not much leg room at the tables. Our was wobbly too so made things a bit more difficult when sharing plates. Other than that, we left happy and full!”

“Nothing against the food but FOH needs to come up with a better system for to-go orders. I placed an order to be ready for pick up between 5:05 - 5:10pm. I arrived at 5:08pm. They said they’d check on it and then I proceeded to wait over 20 plus minutes for my order. When I asked if it was ready the host said “If it was ready, it’d be out here.” Okay. Finally, when I asked someone they showed me a paper bag on a random side bench with no indicator that it was an area to pick up orders. That had been there the whole time, right across from their podium. They didn’t even look. No apology or any consideration for my time or that my foods cold, and honestly the wait is not a big deal, it’s just the lack of communication. Rude. And I tipped!”
