The Dhalpuri roti is such a comforting potato and chickpea pouch with soft, flat, layered bread containing the delicious stew, with ground chickpeas in between

D’s Roti & Trini Cuisine — one of Back of the Yards's strongest caribbean spots. Not your typical menu, in a good way. The staff makes it feel personal, and vegetarian-friendly. Ryan P.: "The double was so fresh, as well as the bake with salt fish and daulpuri with curry chicken" [$]

🌱Vegan & vegetarian friendly — real options, not one sad pasta.

Visiting from Denver, I was craving home food so I looked up Trini restaurants near me, man what an amazing surprise! Upon entry I felt that Trini warmth, store was clean, service was absolutely amazing. The Menu has everything you would want from an authentic Trini restaurant. I ordered two chicken and two goat wrapped dhalpuris, I got a free corn soup to drink while waiting! When I got home and opened up that food, truly authentic and sumptuous and to anyone living abroad we know that this can be a struggle at times but D’s kept that homely, mummy, granny and aunty hand kinda flavor! Will definitely be back every time I visit, I don’t just highly recommend, I URGE you to go try it for yourself! Two thumbs up and five stars from me!!!

This culinary experience transported me straight back to Trinidad. Every dish was absolutely perfect, as if it had been cooked in a Port of Spain kitchen. Dawn and Marvin are wonderful hosts for Trinis, and West Indians, living abroad. This is a must-visit in Chicago and I’m already counting down the days until we can return. We’re going to beg Dawn and Marvin to teach us how to cook! It’s that good! (Our photo doesn’t do it justice. We ate so quickly, forgot to take photos- this wasn’t even half of what we ordered. Paired with an Apple J for the complete experience. Everything on the menu is a must-try). Top Trini food in the US. 🔥❤️🤍🖤🇹🇹

My husband and I just ate at D’s ..for the very first time a Ms a Father’s Day treat and we truly enjoyed every bite. The owners were friendly, and welcoming. They politely took the time out to explain each food choice. Our curried & brown stewed chicken, calleloo and okra, peas, potatoes and roti were bursting with different flavors of deliciousness!👏🏾👏🏾 We WILL be back. The Oladipupo’s

I ordered doubles and lamb roti they were all out of the goat, the doubles had a unique flavor it was excellent something different, however the roti was not my cup of tea the lamb was combined with a mashed potato and the flavor was reminiscent of a ramen seasoning packet, chick peas and a yellow powdery substance but a lot of mush... I didn't get any Sauces either 🤷🏼‍♀️ next time I'll try the goat rice platter instead it comes with salad and should have more texture, and I'll check the bag for my sauces.

I haven't been "home" to T&T in a very long time and D's was exactly what I needed for that island comfort. The curry goat & chicken were amazing. My only complaint is that it isn't closer to my house lol. It's definitely worth the hour drive though.
