This is absolutely my favorite family owned and operated Mexican restaurant.
Went in had a burrito they handed me my forearm and it was cut big pieces of steak and tacos pastor on point woooooooooooo!!!

I came in today and ordered a torta. The menu didn’t mention that it came with beans, which I don’t eat.
Had the Menudo wasn’t red enough the soup no flavor my wife had sopes and the dough wasn’t cooked enough would not recommend this place!

This is absolutely my favorite family owned and operated Mexican restaurant. I visit at least twice a week and the food is always fresh to order and the owners Paco, Sarah and Allen are always nice to me. The restaurant atmosphere is warm and inviting and they always have new things for me to try. My favorite dish is the Steak Taco dinner. They have a mango flavored water I love to order with my meal. I give this restaurant 5 stars and recommend everyone give them a try. You will not be disappointed.

2nd time coming here and the food is awesome! the first time i grabbed a huarache de alpastor. today i got a torta de asada. the meat is tender and well seasoned. the agua de pina was really good aswell.

“We live in Northern California.”
We live in Northern California. While working in Chicago for over a month, we have searched to find good Mexican food that was priced fairly (unlike the pricing in our neighborhood; downtown Magnificent Mile area). While Google searching, we found El Comandante Azteca and all we can say is, "WOW". The service was excellent and the food was beyond our expectations. The complimentary fried/hot chips, home made sauces (orange, red and green), and home made pickled carrots, peppers, and cauliflower tops other restaurants. The food is delicious, authentic and large in portion size. GIVE IT A TRY; DON'T CHEAT YOURSELF!

Love this place, newly opened up recently and it's right across from my job and decided to give it a chance ever since then I have been a regular customer here with them knowing who I am now, very respectful and friendly people, very wonderful food alongside the diversity of the food choices included in this place. The food it's always great and although it isn't perfect they work with the customers to ask what to provide and provide better even the next time I recommend this for anyone interested in tacos or even anything Mexico food that would brighten there day
