Watched the NFL games here and the crowd is awesome, the service is really good (fast, will chat with ya, gave food suggestions), and the food is incredible. Can’t miss on the wings! Especially if you’re a Bengals fan, but even if you are not, this is a must-go spot in Old Town!

This is a hidden gem for delicious wings in Old Town, and wife and I had the chance to discover it for the first time. We were invited by the restaurant for a complimentary tasting and here is my honest take. The staff is amazing. There are two patios and plenty of seating inside—not only to enjoy wings, but also their delicious pork fries, a great burger, and their spin on a chicken sandwich, among other fantastic menu items. I got to try the no sauce wings which already had a nice flavor plus five other sauces. if you are a wing person you will have no problem finding a favorite. My favorite was sweet bourbon but I also enjoyed the Malört bbq. Yeah, Malört—stop making that face as you’re reading this and just try it. ;) Somehow, they made the collaboration sauce with Malört work. Never had pork fries before and I did like how crispy and not fatty they were. We were told to dip them in both sauces and once for the full experience. :) We got couple cocktails from the full bar. My jalapeño margarita was refreshing and not at all sweet. The wings, drinks, the atmosphere and hospitality was so great that I would be happy coming back and paying for my next meal.

Besides their award winning wings (I’m not kidding- they are beyond amazing, perfectly charted, sauces are so unique I recommend super buff if you can take the heat). Shawn and staff go above and beyond, and we appreciate them so much! We love that our dogs are invited!

Updated: Replying to the Owner: It happened yesterday July 06, 2025 at around 3:35PM to 4:00PM. That choom picture was taken at 3:32pm before it happened. The area we were seated at was at the end of the bar (left side closer to the kitchen/restroom.) I appreciate your prompt reply and looking at this matter. Woodies is part of our neighborhood and we wouldn't want to feel that way in one of our neighborhood bar. Thanks. I always like the food here at Woodies that's why this is one of my go to place for ordering around closer to where we live, or we're tired from our walks and love to relax and have a delicious food before walking back home, this was our place to dine. Woodies also is one of a good Sports bar around this area. Yesterday, we sat by the bar my husband ordered a beer, I ordered some chicken wings to go, and for our dine in or food to eat there was the delicious burger and tacos. The buffalo wings arrived first in a to go container of course, and I ate some, saved some for home, couldn't wait, it's delicious! Then our tacos arrived in a to go container too but we ordered it for dine in, but no worries, we ate it too! It was really good! Then of course the burger for dine in! While we're enjoying our food and drinks, the small guy who handed our order to go was talking to the bartender in a different language and he was pointing at my husband and our direction, the bartender also looked at us, The small guy was not happy then afterwards they were smiling as if they were making fun of us. We'll, that's how we felt. My husband asked me if they were talking about him because they were pointing at his direction, I didn't want to escalate the situation so I told my husband to just ignore it but it made us really uncomfortable that we just decided to finished our food and drinks (didn't order the 2nd drink (choom) that we would like to try. On our way out, The smal guy and the bartender was hugging playful at each other that when I was beside them, one playfully pushed one towards my direction (but I wasn't hit,) I just felt really uncomfortable. I'm writing this because I loved this place, but that incident yesterday probably makes us not want to dine in here yet soon. I didn't change my 5 star overall rating because It would be unfair for the hardworking owner and manager, he was very nice to us and to all of the customers. 2 years ago review- They have an amazing food here! The Woodie's burger is a must try! It's juicy mouth watering burger. We had those delicious chickens too. I ordered the original flavor, garlic and cheese, and the sweet bourbon glaze!!! The ambiance was chill (kudos to the staff) they're good in managing the crowd. Glad there's table available when we stopped by around 9PM. We were seated right away.

Cool small but modern little dive bar and wing spot with a great patio section. Wings are the best in Chicago per the Chicago Wingout Wingfest and other reviews and they did not disappoint they’re amazing. House smoked and then double flash fried, crispy and smoky yet still juicy. Sauce flavors were great the regular buffalo is plenty spicy and the Korean style is actually even hotter I would say. Only thing I noticed was some of the other sauces, BBQ and Sriracha were very similar to the Korean style and just less spicy, I did like the Bbq for a sweeter option. All in all food was amazing! They also have a couple options for happy hour, including a great deal for 2 dollars for 2 pretzels w a great honey mustard or cheese sauce . Beers were also ice cold and served in a big glass mug if ya want.🍻🍺🍻

Woodies is the best place in the world to watch Bengals football (outside of Cincinnati, of course)! The atmosphere is amazing, and all of the servers are friendly and awesome. The chicken wings (especially the boneless ones) are the best I've ever had. The owners do a great job making everyone feel welcome - its a must visit if you live in or visit Chicago!

Best experience to watch the Bengals (and any other team)! Wings hit the spot everytime. The staff is always friendly and accommodating. Their Friday night drink deals is a great start to the weekend. Definitely an Old Town gem!

Wanted to watch some basketball and figured we could grab dinner here. Started with their nachos and added chicken. The chicken was rubbery but everything else was good especially the beer cheese. After that we got a double order of wings: half teriyaki and half Korean style. These wings were amazing. Perfectly smoked to fall of the bone levels. I really liked the teriyaki sauce but wasn't a big fan of the Korean style. Overall, great wings and a lot of sauces to choose from.

So me and my boyfriend visited this place 12/6/21 around 9:30 and the service was still great. I can’t remember our server’s name, but as soon as we came in the bar, we were greeted and sat down with cups of waters. After about a minute of looking over the menu, we decided to order two one-pound orders of wings. This bar is known for their wings, so that’s what we came for. We decided to order the Sriracha Soy, Sweet Bourbon, Parmesan-Garlic and Nashville Hot. The Sriracha and Bourbon wings DID NOT disappoint ☺️ Not only were the wings very crispy and well done (just how I like it) but the sauces were executed perfectly. On the other hand, the Parmesan and Nashville hot wings were our least favorite. They just didn’t pack enough flavor for our liking. However, with the help of great service and great cocktails (pineapple mojito and a long island), I will still give this place 5/5 stars. I look forward to returning, and one day I hope to see the chef add lemon pepper wings. Thanks again Woodie’s 🤞🏾

First time at this place and the wings were super tasty.. 10/10. The reviews mention excellent service, however our waitress didn't come around often. It was a Thursday night and very packed so I'm not sure if there was a game or what (total frat house), but she was probably focusing on the bar inside. I still enjoyed the food/atmosphere and will be back again 😊
