WOK DONG — low-key food in Portage Park that runs on repeat customers. They're doing something different, and it works. The team can walk you through the menu, and BYOB. Vincent C.: "The chicken was fried perfectly, while being tender and juicy with a perfect amount of crunchiness"

“This is an amazing place.”
This is an amazing place. We were so pleased with the food, the chill atmosphere, and the service were fantastic. We loved the chicken fried rice with bacon!!! It truly tastes delicious. The beef chop suey was a great complement. But the plantains...those really take the cake...they are perfectly fried and toasted. The garlic alioli is not too garlicky, so it let's you enjoy the plantain flavor. Overall, we will be returning soon!

“Great local spot, support local!”
Great local spot, support local!! Originally found this spot on Instagram per Everything Erica, and ended up coming for lunch. Lunch specials are from 11-2 and included an entree, egg roll and a drink. We had the orange chicken and I brought the churro cake home! We will definitely be back to try more items. Service was friendly as well!

“This is a great addition to our neighborhood.”
This is a great addition to our neighborhood! It’s a Latin and Chinese fusion but I didn’t see much Latin influence. We ordered takeout for delivery. Shrimp fried rice, chicken wings and Mongolian beef. The food was delivered quickly and it was still hot. Everything was delicious! The portions are large and you can’t beat the prices. We will go here again and hopefully it will survive the space that has seen its share of restaurants come and go.

“My new favorite spot for Chinese food on the NW side.”
My new favorite spot for Chinese food on the NW side! Excellent food and service. Tried the beef and pork lumpia, orange chicken, and salt and pepper pork chop and everything was delicious. Very affordable and BYOB as well.

“Had this place for lunch for the first time.”
Had this place for lunch for the first time. Absolutely delicious. Flavors were on point. Got the Mongolian chicken with fried rice, fried chicken wings (not pictured), and tres leches mini cake. Fantastic. Neighborhood needed something like this.

“This place is so cool.”
This place is so cool! A fusion of Chinese and Latin American flavors—definitely more “American style Chinese food” than “food you’d literally experience in China”, but this kitchen knows what they’re doing, and the staff and owner are super nice. Pictured here is the orange chicken with garlic aoli, combination fried rice, and appetizer chicken wings; I think that kinda highlights this place’s charm! The garlic aioli is a nod to the unique touches Wok Dong adds, the rice is a really good execution of a classic (with perfect smoky “wok hei”), and the wings were so crispy and fresh, and had a really fresh simple sauce. Portions are also a GREAT deal. Come support a new local place!

“Salt & Pepper pork was very flavorful and plenty salty in a good way.”
Salt & Pepper pork was very flavorful and plenty salty in a good way. Orange chicken had a decent crunch, the sauce seemed real and natural and there was plenty of it. They came with a small white rice. Good price for a decent portion. Wasn't feeling the tres leches dessert. Loud but not annoying Latin music from the kitchen with commercials.
