The Bellevue Chicago — neighborhood food in Gold Coast. Good energy here, especially on weekends. Cocktail menu runs deeper than expected. Good value, works for larger parties. Dawn Geoffroy: "The Bellevue is a one of the best restaurants I’ve been to in a LONG time"

“We split the best crab cake we have ever had in the city of Chicago”
I've had good dinners here but I can't say that for the breakfast.
Arrived promptly for a 9:30 reservation that I had booked on OpenTable but found that the door was locked.
My wife and I have been eating dinner on Rush Street for thirty years, and one day we decided to patronize this new restaurant.

10/10 recommend. The tuna tartar melted in my mouth like butter and the service was top tier. The Bellevue is also incredibly beautiful. We sat in the upstairs dining area by the window where we people watched on Rush, enjoyed the natural lighting and cheered with refreshing and delicious mocktails.

“Great service, excellent food fun atmosphere to be in.”
Great service, excellent food fun atmosphere to be in. Definitely was worth every penny. Their constant checking in on us is what made the experience feel like we were acknowledged. The outside seating had a wait but we preferred inside anyways and were seats right away, with reservations of course. The chicken cashew salad was amazing and delicious as well as their sliders

We usually don't eat at the old steaks and chops joints like Carmine and Gibson in the "V-Triangle", everything is just so boring. We decided to give Bellevue a shot anyway since we have not been here after it took over the old spot for Tavern on Rush a couple of years ago. They have made some small improvements on the layout and maximized the upstairs space, it is more comfortable. The menu is what we have expected, sea food, steaks and chops. However what caught my attention was the Spanish Pork Secreto. I have not seen it on a menu for a very long time. The pork was imported from Spain, Iberico pork shoulder has so much more flavor than US pork. The US pork has all of the flavors bred out of them with no taste whatsoever. The Iberico pork has perfect tenderness and marbling. This was reflected in this dish perfectly. The pork cooks quickly, grilled or pan fried. The flavor was unbelievable, the texture was tender and crisp at the same time, you can't stop eating it. I have not had this dish outside of Spain so it was a treat. The seasoning was perfect, not overly salted. You can taste the pork without the other distractions. I didn't know what to make of the Kung Pao Cauliflower, the sauce was right but the breading was thick and soggy, not my recommendation. The rest of food is good, but basically the standard line up, nothing worth noting here. I would come back here just for the pork! Great service from Claire!

“We had a lovely time.”
We had a lovely time. We scored outside seating a beautiful spot under a tree. I had the peach mocktail. The Bellevue also has its own craft beer- a light lager. It was a light lunch for us but perfect. We split the best crab cake we have ever had in the city of Chicago. Amazing. We also split the chopped Greek salad and had bread service. It was more than we could eat. Service was great. I hope I remember her name correctly- Taylor. She was awesome. Friendly, Effective. Efficient and able to answer all our questions and she provided really good recommendations!!

Today my girlfriend and I had the pleasure of dining @The Bellevue and were fortunate enough to chat with Executive Chef Russell Kook II (Hell’s Kitchen’s Season 8 Finalist). He is awesome and very delightful to talk to. It’s obvious he’s very happy with his position and truly enjoys what he does. If anyone is ever in town or happens to live nearby, I highly recommend visiting him, his amazing staff, and ordering the crab cake appetizer, along with the Prime skirt steak. The prices here are very reasonable, given the high quality ingredients used & the dishes that are on the menu. Furthermore, we are super pleased with the service given to us by Chef Omar, Manager William Murphy, and our server Sofia. You guys rock and I’m looking forward to returning soon!!😊

Hadn’t been here since the grand opening and I have to say the new chef has stepped them up! Every single dish was delicious. The mussels and carbonara were favorites of mine. And a crab cake that’s FULL of crab wins every time! Will definitely be returning. Love the patio in the summer!

“A place where you can really feel the vibe of River North.”
A place where you can really feel the vibe of River North. The yellow canopy gives a fresh and lively atmosphere, making it a great spot for brunch. It’s also more affordable compared to other nearby restaurants, which makes it even more recommended! The staff were friendly, and the food was excellent.
