I’ve thought about the excellent meal I enjoyed at Taste 222 last week about a hundred times since. Stopped in on my way to the train after a day at the office ended early. I had the beet salad and truffle fries. Alex was great helping me decide and provided top-class service. The food was phenomenal and perfectly paired with the foggy geezer pale ale. Loved the ambience and vibe. Can’t wait to try more of the menu!

I saw Taste 222 and was curious to try it out. I really liked my beet salad and espresso cocktail drinks. The cornbread is also delicious. Good variety of food and drinks. Joe our server was super nice too and the food and drinks here are reasonably priced. I’d recommend!

Everything was excellent. The food, service, decor, and music playlist! I’ll definitely return. The hours are geared toward business traffic in the loop so plan accordingly. I had the lemon garlic chicken salad and it was divine.

I had lunch here with some coworkers. Over all the service was good with good service. We thought it a bit odd that the deviled eggs came as three halves. You couldn’t give us all four halves of making two eggs? $6 for 1.5 eggs seems aggressive. But everything else was really good. I highly recommend the lemon garlic chicken salad and mac & cheese. Sooooo good!

The best time of day is happy hour and Taste 222 is offering a great happy hour option in the west loop. Mon - Fri, from 4pm-6pm, you can enjoy happy hour food and drink deals and their patio is open as well! What I tried: Vegetarian Empanadas Hand cut truffle fries Deviled eggs Firecracker shrimp Korean bbq wings Honorable mention to the Kurveball BBQ Lemonade. This drink was made with Kurveball BBQ flavored whiskey! It’s definitely one of the more unique drinks I’ve had flavor wise; you gotta try it! They also have a DOPE EVENT SPACE that you can use; it’s SO NICE and SPACIOUS! It’s available for rental and they’re taking holiday bookings for the space currently! Add this spot to your happy hour stops in Chicago and tell em that Bri from Planes and Plates sent you! Enjoy!

Black owned restaurant in West Loop with gathering space for larger events. Creative and delicious dishes, cocktails and mocktails, clean and cozy. I am totally biased. Taste 222 *could* serve river rocks marinated in canal water and I would still love them. I love the people and the atmosphere and the events and the owners and the location ... and I do love the food. The first time I went to an event, I got talking too much and the vegetarian entree was gone by the time I was making a plate. One of employees went to a store to get more supplies to make another vegetarian entree option!! There was still salad and vegetarian appetizer options ... which are also absolutely delicious and fine by me. They still went out of their way to provide an entree for me.
