Still the same flavors as when I was a kid. A true Chicago southsider experience. Pro tip: grab something here before the Sox game.

“I’m giving these guys 5 stars because they came in clutch after a concert at the Guarenteed Rate Field (White Sox).”
I’m giving these guys 5 stars because they came in clutch after a concert at the Guarenteed Rate Field (White Sox). We needed food to get us through the 3 hour drive home and this place was one of the only places open at that time of night. Not being from the area, I was a little concerned from pictures and not sure if it would be safe but there were plenty of people walking around after the concert. I pulled right into the lot to the side of the building to park. They have a simple menu and a walk-up counter. Our food was ready within seconds. Literally seconds. I got the polish sausage how it comes onions and mustard, with a hot pepper on the side and my daughter got a hamburger. They both came with French fries, and they threw in catchup packets napkins and salt too. Those plus two bottles of water was just $15. You cannot beat that price even at a mc’ds. Plus the guys working were super friendly. The food was greasy and delicious. My car smelled like grilled onions the next morning, but it was well worth it. Would stop again.

“Delicious pork chops.”
Delicious pork chops. The caramelized onions are very well done. Overall nice place to get reasonably priced food. Also, I love how fries are included in the price!

“Chicago stands the test of time as one of the best food cities on the planet.”
Chicago stands the test of time as one of the best food cities on the planet. One of the “Chicago” things to do, whether you’re a native like me or just visiting, is to get yourself a Maxwell Street Polish. Nothing compares. Second in command is the Pork Chop Sandwich. Flavors that take me back to childhood. Two things to note about this classic spot: CASH ONLY and, no seating. People munch away in their cars because the aroma in your car turns you into a wolf. A Chicago classic indeed for anyone to come grab a bite.

Me and my Dad (R.I.P)To my father I miss him so much, he passed away in January 2021 from COVID. We used to always make it a little tradition for us to get to Maxwell Street and I would get so hungry on the way to you guys lol. He loved his 2 hot dogs no ketchup of course, I always got my Hamburger with everything-fries and coffee 😄. We are Italian so I love this picture too. I recommend you go here definitely 100%%

I used to buy food there a few times every week when I studied at IIT from 2018 to 2020. The food was amazing, everything tasted so good. Hot dogs were $3.25, and Polish sausages were $4.50. I miss those days. Now I live in Seattle, the burgers and hot dogs here just aren’t the same. I’ve never found food as good as Chicago’s.
