great dinner grill options, the chicken was perfectly seasoned, very tender and a really great cut. Pasta was excellent too, best seasoning I've had in a while. The staff was efficient and very polite and friendly. We enjoyed it, will return and will recommend!

“Great experience here at Mannys.”
Great experience here at Mannys. We came twice on our trip to Chicago. Definetly worth the hype! Tell the crew what you want on your tray, and pay down at the end!

“I really enjoyed Rueben sandwich at Manny’s.”
I really enjoyed Rueben sandwich at Manny’s. I actually prefer it over Katzes in NYC. No frills, no hungry tourists, just your typical American diner. I’d love to return.

“I was a bit intimidated walking up to the food counter with my tray.”
I was a bit intimidated walking up to the food counter with my tray. There is sooooo much food on display and menus high up on the back wall. I came for a pastrami sandwich but I didn't want to pass a opportunity to try something unexpected. The folks behind the counter were friendly, brisk enough to be professionally efficient while still being patient. How do you teach that skill to someone? My family added bowls of kreplach soup to their meals; I added a latke. We polished off our "sides" and half a sandwich. The men in my family thought the soup broth was very, very delicious and the kreplach a bit too thick and doughy. We all remarked that the rye bread was sturdy enough to contain the piled high portions of meat yet the crust was soft enough to bite through without a tug. Do you know what I mean? We are used to eating Detroit rye with a crust that requires serrated teeth and tug. We unanimously decided Manny's rye was better!

“We really loved it.”
We really loved it. But then again, we've been wanting to go for a long time 😁 Parking in the back lot was a breeze. It wasn't super busy but there were plenty of customers. The place is enormous inside. With all the vintage style, the checkered floor, the cafeteria tray slide. It was neat. And the food was fabulous. It was exactly what it was supposed to be. Not fancy or pretentious. Just delicious and obviously prepared with some pride. We all had Hot corned beef, a Reuben, and a combo with pastrami. The meat was super tender and fresh and plenty of it. Tried some matzo ball soup. It was really good. Lots of flavor in the broth, especially that it has some fat to it, velvety practically. Matzo ball was just right. And we also tried potato pancakes which were undoubtedly the best I've ever had. And a knish, that my daughter raved about. And ended up with a nice oatmeal cookie from the treat shop. All in all, definitely worth the trip for us from the suburbs. We are absolutely looking forward to going back for more. 😋 Also, it was spotless. And the employees were pleasant and attentive. 👍

“Got the Reuben, matzo ball soup, kugel, latke, and knish.”
Got the Reuben, matzo ball soup, kugel, latke, and knish. The meat was piled high and the kraut was good. Enjoyed everything. Wish we could’ve tried the beef stew. Nice large dining area. We came late Saturday morning and didn’t feel rushed and staff were very friendly. We especially liked the Reuben and knish

Manny’s is such a fun spot where you can get really good food (and a lot of it) for a really reasonable price. Just one warning—make sure you understand the sheer size of a full sized sandwich before you order 😂 The sandwiches and potato pancakes and matzah ball soup obviously never disappoint, but I recently went for breakfast and now want to have their chocolate babka French toast every day.

“11/25 - A Chicago classic, we get here about once a year.”
11/25 - A Chicago classic, we get here about once a year. Couldn't get away with these prices back home, but I guess you expect it in Chicago. Have never ate more than half a sandwich so ask the cashier for a takehome box to save a trip back to see her 😁. Pastrami for me every time, theirs is tops.
