Takumi Ramen
Takumi Ramen — dependable chinese in Pilsen. The design gives it a sharp first impression. The bar is worth the visit on its own, and BYOB. "The chicken karaage was nicely fried and battered, delicate yet juicy and seasoned nicely" — Rolo

“I had been craving ramen for most of my trip. I originally wanted to make it to Ramen Wasabi, but I never quite found the time. In the end, Takumi Ramen turned out to be exactly what I was looking for. I ordered the Tokyo Shoyu Ramen and the Harami beef skewer. The ramen was fantastic. The broth was rich and satisfying, and the chashu pork, soft-boiled egg, and bamboo shoots were exactly what I needed after spending the day walking through Forest Park and Pilsen. The Harami was equally impressive. Simple, perfectly cooked, and incredibly flavorful—everything you’d want from a grilled beef skewer. The atmosphere was another highlight. Cozy, quiet, and comfortable, it felt like the perfect place to recharge after a long day of exploring. Whether you’re eating alone or with a group, it’s an easy place to settle in and enjoy a great meal.”

“Loved this place, chicken was a little dry but the prices were super good and they had amazing prices. Thank you to our amazing servers and manager”

“You have to scan to see the menu and to order. Oh also pay as well. Food came out quick. The music was good. Parking sucks but that's about it”

“Tried Takumi Ramen today and ordered their Takumi Tonkotsu Ramen — the broth was super rich and flavorful, and the noodles had a great texture. Really comforting and satisfying. They also have a buy 5 get 1 free beer deal right now, which is a pretty good deal. And the beer tower/container they use is so cool and eye-catching. Definitely a fun spot to hang out with friends. Would come back again!”

“Love being able to order as I go and the price and portions of the food. We've been here twice and everything we've tried was so so good. Ramen has really good flavor and the spicy option is enough spice to get you but not overly so! Will definitely be coming back again soon!”

“Dimly lit, quiet ramen spot at the very top of the best of the best ramen bowls and broth in the city. Flavorful as all hell and the spicy here actually means spicy lol. The service was great, the staff was very attentive and rounded frequently. Also: three bowls, an order of gyoza dumplings, a boba, and a ramune all came out to be almost $25 cheaper than other establishments with similar (high) quality ramen. Can't wait to stop by again”

“Very recommended place, the food was delicious.”

“No reservation needed. Casual Monday night dinner. Yakitori platter: beef was good. Pork was okay. Chicken thigh was dryer than bone in chicken wing. Okonomiyaki: more doughey. Could have more seafood chunks. Tonkatsu: Clean broth, could be creamier, but it wasnt as oily. Comes with seaweed, egg, chashu, and bamboo shoots. No corn. I like the noodle texture Spicy miso: flavorful.”

“Came back twice within the month and love it. Our kids favorite ramen.place lately. They love and talked about your noodle all the time. Thanks!”

“This is hands down the best restaurant I’ve tried in Chicago. The tonkotsu ramen is outstanding — the broth is rich, deep, and full of flavor without being overpowering. The fried dishes are also excellent: incredibly fresh, with a super crispy exterior that stays light and never greasy. For dessert, my favorite is the matcha. Unlike many Japanese restaurants where matcha desserts can be overly sweet, this one is refreshing, well-balanced, and smooth, with none of the bitterness. It’s perfect even for people who don’t usually like sweets. The service is warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming, which makes the whole experience even better. This place is truly a hidden gem, and I can’t wait to share it with more friends. Highly recommended!”
