Sun Wah BBQ — straightforward chinese in Uptown. Order the Duck. There's real intention behind the cocktail list. "As a lover of spicy food, I especially appreciated the spicy sauce—it paired perfectly with the dishes" — Fisola Adeosun

Went here for my birthday and had the Peking duck. It was massive and very filling though I wish I had a couple buns. The meal also included a soup and some noodles which were also hearty.

“I got the Peking duck meal.”
I got the Peking duck meal. It's not on the menu but it is $70. It comes with a whole duck carved table side (all the items that usually come with Peking duck - gua bao, hoisin sauce, etc.), duck fried rice, and a duck soup. The duck was very flavorful and workers were friendly.

“We had a great experience dining here.”
We had a great experience dining here! We ordered the BBQ ribs, BBQ pork fried rice, and roast duck—all in small portions—but it was more than enough for two people, and everything was delicious. The ribs were definitely my favorite. My friend tried the ginger mojito while I had the MSG cocktail, and I really enjoyed mine. As a lover of spicy food, I especially appreciated the spicy sauce—it paired perfectly with the dishes and was definitely spicy. Despite arriving during their lunch break, the staff were incredibly attentive, which I truly appreciated. The atmosphere was also really pleasant and added to the overall experience. We even stayed long just talking and I appreciate that we weren’t rushed out as my friend come in from out of town and we were catching up after many years

“Peking duck set is the must order every time.”
Peking duck set is the must order every time. Skillfully cut at the table, the tender meat and shine of the roast presented well on a plate ensures a start of a delicious meal. Fried rice, 6 soft white buns plus the broth from the duck bones is plentiful for 4 people. Additional buns can be ordered w the Peking duck set. Always love taking advantage of their to go stand. My favorites are their soy chicken and roasted duck. Available in half or whole.

The restaurant is just one big room almost like a factory which is very fitting given the amount of ducks they are pumping out. We requested the Peking duck dinner beforehand and it seemed like everyone else had the same idea. We were a little overzealous and ordered some apps before the dinner. The egg rolls were massive and one of the better ones I’ve had with a crispy exterior and a tasty interior. The potstickers were also crispy but not as good. Onto the dinner, they carved the duck right in front of you which was a nice little show. The first thing that was ready was the duck and bao buns. We ordered an extra six which was well worth it. The bao was light and fluffy while the duck was tender, juicy, and flavorful. Sprinkling on some pickled onions, those duck baos were the star of the show. The duck soup came out next which was an afterthought with everything else we had. Finally, the duck fried rice came out which was good but didn’t contain too much duck. It’s nice that they repurpose the remaining duck into the soup and rice but all I needed was the craved duck and baos. Overall, this was a great experience and a fun night. Something unique with the Peking Duck dinner and super affordable (~$75 for the Peking Duck dinner).

“Delighted as guest to a quacker 🦆off-menu specialty.”
Delighted as guest to a quacker 🦆off-menu specialty. Seated, welcomed, orders taken and service started immediately. Could barely keep track. Peking duck carved table side, w all sides fresh, 🦆fried rice, noodles and bbq pork. more. Eye 🍬 candy, mouth watering experience. Not a fancy place. More of a large fast paced family-style restaurant. Great for great dinner if in a hurry or take-out. Ample street and nearby parking. Can't wait for return trip to Chicago and repeat dinner w my daughter and future in-laws. Thk U Lydia and Seth.🤪🙂 Call ahead recommended. Staff geared to fast and courteous service. Give them a try soon.

“Authentic Chinese BBQ Duck & Pork restaurant in Little Vietnam neighborhood.”
Authentic Chinese BBQ Duck & Pork restaurant in Little Vietnam neighborhood. Friendly efficient service & drinks. Make sure to pre-order the Beijing Duck Dinner ahead of time to ensure you have one set aside for you. They bring the whole Duck tableside with the skin and sauces and condiments. They will slice up the duck and its skin onto a plate to put onto buns that you assemble yourself. They then take your duck back and take the shreds of meat off the remaining bone to make Duck Fried Rice. They then take the remaining carcass of the duck to make hot Duck soup. The three course dinner easily feeds two or three people just by itself. There are great bao's and side dishes to accompany as well. The Peking Duck was the highlight!
