Furama Restaurant
Furama Restaurant — chinese in Uptown. Feels like it's been there since before the neighborhood changed. Flavors that haven't been adjusted for mass appeal. Handles groups well. [$$]

“This spot reminds me of any traditional Chinese/Vietnamese banquet hall! Plenty of seating and even a stage. We went around 11am on a Sunday, they must’ve just opened. Only a few tables were in use. Btw- Their servers/cart pushers all spoke English! The dim sum is comparable to east coast style. I judge dim sum places based on the chicken feet, tripe, and pork ribs. Everything tasted very traditional, 10/10 would come back again. They also validate for parking in the lot next door!”

“First push cart dimsum experience I’ve had in Chicago! I feel like some of the dishes were quite good (the chive and pork bing, chicken feet) but some of them were a bit weaker (Xiao long bao was a bit weaker). Nonetheless, I feel like it was a solid dim sum experience, though you do have to be a bit firmer about turning down the food. Also tea to supplement was nice though not free. Come for some solid dimsum uptown!”

“Very wide selection of Dim Sum and dishes on the menu and everything tasted amazing!”

“Great service and a fantastic array of reasonably priced dim”

“One of the best dim sum restaurants in Chicago. They push around carts for you to choose from on the weekends. Seriously, this place is phenomenal and they have so many options! There is a location in chinatown too but I haven't had the chance to go yet. You can't go wrong here.”

“We hosted a special event in the space for a company event, and had an amazing experience. Our guests loved the food, and the staff was absolutely wonderful to work with. The space was just the right size for our event (about 150 people), but could have fit a bit more comfortably, up to 200 I think. The stage worked really well for our program - everyone could see and hear comfortably, not a bad seat in the room. We absolutely would work with Furama again!”

“Great old school dim sum. FRESH abd delicious! Our new dim sum go to place!”

“Went here yesterday to family dinner, i also ordered for take out. My bf is a chinese he said the way they make food is bland & not very good. The place is nice & seems like they have karaoke if you requested.”

“The tea was not hot, and the food was as well. Made everything taste extra oily.”

“The traditional dim sum cart experience on the weekends was nice but the food was a bit disappointing. All the dim sum with the exception of the siu mai had really thick wrappers and oversteamed to mushy oblivion. Char siu was dry and very sweet. Congee was bland.”
