“Fantastic experience - we (our Chinese family) were visiting Chicago and were originally going to a different Chinese restaurant nearby but they said it’d be a 45min - 1hr wait. So we came here instead and were glad we did. We ordered Yibin Flaming Noodles, Braised Beef noodle soup, Yangzhou fried rice, Pork & Chive dumplings, Pork and Crab xiaolongbao, Garlic cucumbers, and Shrimp shumai. The flavor was excellent - plenty of chili and garlic on the noodles but not too spicy, fillings in the dumplings and shumai were great, and the portions were generous for the price. Service was quick - all the food also came within 15 minutes after ordering. The atmosphere was also very inviting - a mix of traditional and modern aesthetics with nice silverware and china on the table. Overall, we’d come back again next time we visit Chicago.”

“Amazing Szechuan food. The service is great and the food comes out unbelievably quickly. I will be craving the dry chili chicken as soon as I leave ❤️ every other dish was great as well. Very flavorful and well seasoned.”

“Absolutely delicious food. Everything we ordered was excellent. The staff was fast, friendly, and helpful. We're definitely going to return to Chengdu Bistro soon.”

“Attentive and fun service, to die for dishes, and a great stop before a concert. Absolutely worth checking out”

“Delicious, spicy, and consistent! Fairly priced and with a new menu to try out compared to Chengdu Impression down the street. Love this place.”

“We went here for lunch and everything was excellent. It's very similar to Chengdu Impression, but taken up a notch. The Yibin Flaming Noodles were outstanding with just the right level of numbness, the green beans were perfect, and the beef noodle soup was perfect on a cold day. Would order all three again in a heartbeat. The only item that was good, not great were the soup dumplings. I would get a different dumpling the next time we go. The service was also outstanding.”

“Fast, Great n Quiet Ambience. Food here is great, reminds me why Chinese Foods in Chicago stays top tier on my lists. A Real hidden gem (Will recommend colleagues). Try their Century Egg dish and Duck Fried Rice (Great prices as well).”

“Been on my list of places to check out for a while now and glad I finally went. The crab Rangoon is some of the best I’ve had, the Dan Dan noodles also great. The dumplings are yummy and the noodles are awesome, letting you pick your preference of noodle size. Also dog and pet friendly on the patio! Big plus”

“Welcoming and calm vibe inside pairs perfectly with the delicious, we'll balanced dishes. Tried Zhong's dumplings, the Dan Dan noodles & Dry Chili Chicken (spicy fried chicken with peppers). The spice level was perfect: present and just a bit sinus clearing on a crisp day, but not overpowering. Staff was efficient & unobtrusive (but not inattentive). Look forward to going back and trying more dishes!”

“Food was great, very flavorful. The guy at the front had a great demeanor in the business of the place. Kudos to him I feel like he’s a great asset to the place.”

“Came here for a birthday dinner with a friend. Everything I ate was delicious, flavorful, not too salty. Even the cucumbers and garlic seemed like it might be basic but it was full of garlic flavor unlike you’ll ever expect. The braised beef noodle soup was a favorite and the xialong boa was served perfectly hot to where the soup filling didn’t burn your mouth. They were also the perfect size to pop right in your mouth whole and enjoy. The noodles you got to pick and they were clearly made in house and were delicious. I highly recommend trying dessert if you’ve never had it, they are more traditional and some of my favorites. Extremely delicious. The setting is actually quite cozy and styled to be slightly upscale. The staff was very friendly and the atmosphere felt calm. I had a lovely time and the food was comforting and nostalgic for me. I will definitely be back.”
