“GLASS IN THE CHICKEN! My friend and I drove from downtown to get uncle joes in Hyde park because their new rhum bar was closed although on google it said it was open. We ordered oxtails and wings ahead of time as the service is extremely slow. When we first received our food, we had to go back in and ask for fresh macaroni because what we received was old, stale and dry. I proceeded to bite into one of the wings and bit into glass. When I went back in to confront them the lady at the front taking the orders was nasty, nonchalant and on a personal call. Customer s err vice is TRASH!GLASS IN THE CHICKEN! “The attitude from the cashier is so unprofessional and rude The chicken is dry and they only give you one side and still charge $22-26 dollars for a dinner The Rasta Pasta is so nasty no flavor and taste like sink water and noodles and the portion isn’t good for $9 they also want to charge $1.10 for more sauce and it’s nothing but water”
“Nope. Just don’t. This is the WORST “Jamaican” food I have ever had. Run away! The oxtails are only offed in dinners and they are nearly $40 with 2 sides. The oxtails were flavorless except for salt and the fat was NOT trimmed off. I got mac and (something like cheese) as one side. I’m warning you not to do it. I also got rasta pasta which tasted sweet for some reason. Why would rasta pasta be sweet? HELP! Please save your money and go elsewhere.”
“A South Side staple! I grew up on this restaurant and still practically 20 years later I can say it’s the most consistent jerk chicken restaurant I’ve had in the city. My food is always fresh, the meat isn’t burnt, food hot upon delivery and take out. They use to have several open years ago but I’m glad Hyde Park stayed open because it close to my house. Already have ate here twice this week! 🩷”
