For all the food I got, I was expecting it to cost more to be honest. I can’t say enough about how good my take out order was. I got a side pork chop too which was an amazing decision. Definitely hit this place up, they have a new lifelong customer in me now.”

“An amazing spot to try a true Chicago creation! Papa’s is home to one of the city’s best jibaritos. It’s a small spot but full of charm with warm, friendly service. I tried their pollo chon jibarito with arroz con gandules. It’s such a fun sandwich and tasted super fresh. The fried plantains were crispy and had good flavor. The shredded rotisserie chicken was really hearty and seasoned well. Definitely make use of the garlic and hot sauce they provide as well to enhance your sandwich. The rice portion was quite large, and it was also seasoned adequately with a nice herby flavor. If you’re looking to try a Chicago classic, come to Humboldt Park’s very own!”

“IF TRULY LOVE PUERTO RICAN FOOD. THIS IS A SPOT YOU MUST TRY. !!!! From the time you walk in the restaurant!! The owner PAPA IS THERE WAITING TO GREET YOU!!! He is SO SWEET!! HIM AND HIS DAUGHTER makes you feel when walk in like your family coming over for dinner!! Now I have to say... in the winter seating is TIGHT !!! Because it not a big restaurant. But I was told BY PAPA ' IN THE SUMMER BAY'BEE!!!! THIS IS THE PLACE TO BE !!! Because they have outside seating and Dj certain days!! Now let's get to the food. The food is amazing!!! Me and my husband had the steak and my friend had the chicken jibaritos plate it comes with Aroz con gandules rice. I also got the tostones and the yuca!! LET ME TELL YA .... We all took our time eating BECAUSE IT WAS SOOOOOO.... GOOOOD!! We WANT TO ENJOY EVERY BITE!! It was just that GOOD!!! And the best part yall!!! IT A BYOB RESTAURANT!!! “Overall the food was good; especially the chicken. The jibarito was yummy. The rice was flavorful, but a little too humid. Service was good, but didn't start off that way. It was crowded and we waited outside to get seated next. A table opened up and a group walked in without waiting. Instead of being told to wait they were immediately seated instead of us. One of my pet peaves is people cutting in front of me in line, so I was instantly bothered, but the server was apologetic and we got seated next. It doesn't change the fact that the food is good and it's a place worth patronizing. You can't go wrong eating chicken that is seasoned like lechón. They have a large rotisserie cooking up lots of tasty chicken at once.”
