Cafecito — neighborhood caribbean in Lincoln Park. The kind of place your parents probably knew about too. The drinks match the food in quality, and solid veggie options. Rachel S: "Also, the mangonut pancakes were the best pancakes I’ve ever had period"

“We love cafecito and regularly come here.”
We love cafecito and regularly come here. Our favorites are the pressed sandwiches, especially the guava-q-chicken. The coffee is strong and some of the best in the neighborhood. The plantain nachos are also very good!! Also don’t forget to try their tres leches pancakes which will blow you away.

“I absolutely adore Cafecito.”
I absolutely adore Cafecito! My rule since moving to the city has been - can’t live anywhere not in walking distance of cafecito. Great food across the board you can’t go wrong & something for everyone! the Fullerton location used to have dance nights pre-covid. Definitely check it out! Alberto is always there so say hi Skip Starbucks and snag a cafe con leche.

“This is a great place to eat Cuban Food.”
This is a great place to eat Cuban Food. I highly recommend the Tilapia Criolla. The sandwiches are very good as well. All the plates include white rice, black beans and platano maduros. It is best that you dine in. Definitely worth the trip!

First restaurant off the lake on Fullerton. Rich cafe con leche. Refreshing combination of flavors and textures. Attentive, friendly staff. Very tasty vegan offerings like provoleta and yucca "tater" tots.

A friend recommended I come here and I’m glad I did! They have a huge menu that is full of delicious options. I loved my sandwich and my drink! They have a bar for both your caffeine and alcohol needs. Tons of vegetarian choices.

As a Cuban born and raised, I can say that their menu isn't 100 % traditional Cuban food but I still can recommend this restaurant because the food was very tasty, well made. Friendly customer service and the atmosphere was pleasant. We definitely be back.

“Great atmosphere, nice decor but even greater Cuban sandwiches and cocktails in the area.”
Great atmosphere, nice decor but even greater Cuban sandwiches and cocktails in the area. I order the Cuban sandwich and the palomilla (steak sandwich) with a side of tostones and a setenta y seis cocktail to start the night off. Both sandwiches came out hot and toasted, aroma filled the air with delicious smell of the meats in the sandwich. The chimichurri sauce with the tostones always slaps. The Cuban needed a bit more mustard for my liking and the palomilla is perfect how it is. The 76 is hands down my favorite cocktail at Cafecito. There was only one waiter there but he did what he could. Making drinks, taking orders and dropping off meals to tables. 10/10 I’ll be back soon

“If you’re looking for the best Cuban sandwich shop , I found the place!”
If you’re looking for the best Cuban sandwich shop , I found the place!! Every single sandwich I’ve ordered from the menu in the past were phenomenal, I especially love the Ropa Vieja and the Chivoto sandwich!! Pair it with a side of black beans and rice, and a bottle of Malta *chefs kiss*, ultra delicious. Their Exotica Salad is sooooo good too! Just get everything, you can’t go wrong. Their coffees are legit too, it will no joke give you energy that will power through the day!! So try and drink it early lol I am so grateful I have found Cafecito, thank you for the amazing food, service and experience.

“The food here was absolutely amazing.”
The food here was absolutely amazing. We had brunch and the creole sauce on the omelette had really good flavor and went so well with the plantains. The avocado toast really blew us away even though we had been a little skeptical about the inclusion of mango - it worked so well with the balsamic! Also, the mangonut pancakes were the best pancakes I’ve ever had period. Super moist and fluffy and with an addictive syrup and toasty coconut flakes. The cafecito was smooth and pretty sweet, and so was the cafe con leche. The only drawback here was the service - they messed up our order and brought us ham and we had to talk to two people to find out they couldn’t make the dish without it and order something else, so by the time it came out, the rest of us were done with our food. And they didn’t give us any discount or take the meal off the bill for us, which I would typically expect in this kind of situation. We also felt generally rushed when ordering even though they weren’t that busy. But anyway it was worth it for the food. The atmosphere was also lovely, the decor all on point and authentic feeling, we sat out on the patio. It was a little loud when emergency vehicles went by (3-4x in an hour) but that’s just something to consider. We would definitely come back to try their dinner menu sometime!
