Bocadillo Market
Bocadillo Market — high-caliber cafe in Fulton Market. Nothing about this place is trying to impress you, and that's the point. There's imagination in the cooking here, and BYOB. Malaika Tyson: "The seafood in the crudo and paella was incredibly fresh and perfectly seasoned" [$$]

“Just awesome, great meeting place for me and my friend Richie to talk shop, loved the table layout and minimalist/modern style which still felt like a throwback to cafés of yore. James was super sweet and it was great meeting him and learning more about who he is and why he loves what he does. Get the heated up cherry blueberry muffin! It will melt in your mouth! Thanks again for a wonderful time!”

“I stopped into Bocadillo Market on a whim for a midday snack and WOWWW!!! Absolutely blown away by the quality of the food! The pan con tomate is easily one of the best things I’ve eaten in Chicago. The patatas bravas are the best salty snack … maybe ever?! You can tell the owner is committed to high quality food (importing the bread from Spain, etc.). I’ll absolutely be back… this is a true hidden gem for anyone who loves incredible Spanish food.”

“From the friendly service to the amazing food, Bocadillo Market is a must try!”

“James is a problem!!! His food is amazing, fantastic, Beauty on a plate, authentic, and leaving you wanting more! Get a Bocadillo sandwich, try the Almond Pie! 🥧 😋 Come back another day for more. What a talent! What a gift! 🫡”

“I came with my family today. The 6 of us loved what we got. This time I ordered the Roasted Mushroom empanada (pictured) it was out of this world!! Bocadillo Market never disappoints.”

“Vanilla cardamon latte was 10/10 and the hot chocolate was very good too! The chocolate chip saffron cookie is a contender for the best choco chip cookie i’ve ever had. You can really taste the saffron. The almond custard pie was also excellent. Highly recommend!”

“Truly phenomenal food. Coffee was the least impressive part, I asked for a flat white and it was… y’know, flat. Maple latte was overly sweet. But MOVING ON, the tortilla de patatas sandwich was 11/10. My friend ordered the eggplant melt bocadillo, which may have actually been better… what really blew us away were the roasted eggplant croquetas. I recommend getting some sandwiches to share plus the croquettes. You can thank me later.”

“Coffee was really good and the food was one of the best sandwiches I’ve ever had!”

“The food and coffee were phenomenal and the service was even better! We felt like we were guests in James' home. Order as much as you can, and make sure you try the bread. Best bread I've had outside of Spain.”

“This place is so fire! This whole street in Chicago is stacked with the best sandwich shops in town.”
