“Bar La Rue is one of those places that would feel right at home alongside top flight restaurants anywhere in the world. The seating is genuinely comfortable, the tables have breathing room, and the whole place feels open and inviting. Fulton Market has no shortage of restaurants, but this one is a standout and has become one of the focal points of the neighborhood. Their happy hour is another reason to keep coming back. The cocktails are expertly made, the food offerings are delicious . Everything about the place, from the design to the service to the atmosphere, feels good.”

“Our server Rios was amazing! The food 5/5 definitely doing another date night here again.”

“Pricey but high-quality! We had the lobster roll and steak-frites. The steak (filet) was cooked to perfection, and the bearnaise sauce was excellent. Fries were fresh and crispy on the outside while being soft on the inside, which went great with the garlic aioli! Lobster roll was good for being in the Midwest. The ambiance made for a lovely Valentine's lunch.”

“My waiter was excellent very attentive. I dined alone and she made the best suggestion. Thank you will be back soon”

“Such a cute place! Incredible service, great staff Bri and Cat were wonderful! It’s a great place for drinks brunch was awesome.”

“Went for restaurant week, 30 dollars can’t be beat! Marco was an excellent server, thank you!! I ordered the French onion soup. - Crispy melted cheese on top, soft bread and onion at the bottom. I was honestly surprised of how good it was. I also ordered the Roasted Faroe Salmon. - Served over mashed potatoes and crispy croutons. Great overall!”

“Another place I got to check off the list. Found them searching for a spot that served the cheeseburger similar to Japan. The burger itself was amazing, great taste, the addition of the fondue cheese was everything I’ve anticipated . Also purchased their Caesar salad which was very flavorful. Overall good food and good drinks. Definitely worth a try if you’re in the area.”

“I went for brunch and really enjoyed it. The French onion soup was the best I’ve had — seriously. The Royale Burger was good and very filling, but the French toast was the highlight. Super soft, moist, and just really well done. Service and atmosphere were great. Brandon W did an excellent job. I’d definitely go back.”

“The entire experience was fantastic. Great atmosphere! We visited during restaurant week and enjoyed their lunch meal. The food was excellent! Probably the best spicy chicken sandwich I've ever had. The front of house staff work together really well and make sure that no table was forgotten. Drinks were always full. Tables clean. Stellar service. The DJ was banging! We celebrated our anniversary and was provided the best bread pudding I've had in years. Again one of the best I've had if not the best. 100% would recommend and would visit again.”

“Best restaurant ever. Came in early with Steven to get a table set up for my girls birthday and when I arrived, it was perfect. Best table and Rios. Our server was amazing. Food is amazing and the fondue was out of this world.”

“An incredible spot in the heart of Fulton Market with great food selection and drinks. There is a large selection of meats/ fish/ and French bites. Are the prices way too high for the quality of the food? Yes. But there also aren’t many spots serving specific dishes that Bar la Rue offers in West Loop. The inside is beautiful and lively and there are so many cool little nooks and crannies you could choose from depending on the energy you’re looking for. I’ve gotten the Steak Frites and Au Jus Sandwich and while the Au Jus sandwich was incredible, the steak not so much. For the price I paid and requesting a cut of filet mignon, the steak was incredibly stringy and fatty (I’ve had a lot of filet mignon and this would almost be at the bottom of all of them). I almost gave this spot a perfect score but the third time I went there we had an abysmal experience not only with the quality of the food but the waiter gave us the wrong receipt twice in a row and forgot to bring our drinks after checking in a few times. We were also sat in the corner of the window area and there was no airflow of any kind so we were drenched in sweat within 2 minutes of being sat. I’ll call this a one off and have high hopes for next time.”
