“For a moment, as the server raised the pitcher mid-pour, I thought they had surely overdone it. But nonetheless, they somehow guided every last drop down to a peaceful landing within the thin, now-cold glass. Fantastic pour, even if I was the only one at the table lucky enough to notice that miraculous moment of casual elegance. The accompanying ambiance and food were great also. I did have to wait a few minutes on the restroom however (my bladder could only take so much of the fine solvent)”

“Excellent service. Great drinks, BEST espresso Martini in Chicago. Food was amazing. Steak tartare highly recommended. Their pot pies will make you wish you saved room In your stomach from everything else you ate that day. Super rich and delicious. Well seasoned and cooked all the way through. Excellent experience!”

“We’ve eaten dinner here before and absolutely loved it, but this time we came specifically for the sticky date cake as dessert. Seriously the most incredibly delicious dessert I’ve ever had. Don’t miss out on this place. The dishes we’ve gotten here before for dinner were the oysters., chicken tikka masala and the pot pie! But the sticky date cake…unreal.”

“Armitage Alehouse is easily one of the best restaurants in the city. The atmosphere is romantic, intimate, and beautifully designed, making it a perfect spot for a date night or special occasion. Every detail of the space adds to the experience, creating a warm and inviting setting that feels both elegant and comfortable. The food is outstanding and lives up to the restaurant’s reputation. Just as impressive is the service—attentive, knowledgeable, and consistently available whenever needed without being intrusive. The staff made sure everything was perfect from start to finish. If reservations are unavailable, it is still worth trying to walk in because this place is too good to miss. Between the incredible food, exceptional service, and unforgettable atmosphere, Armitage Alehouse is a must-visit.”

“Simple outstanding food. The simosas, black cod, tikki masala and naan along with the peas and mashed potatoes were all amazing. We literally could have ordered he whole menu as everything sounded good and what we had delivered. It's hard to grab a reservation here and with good reason as the quality of food is fantastic and the spot is very cozy and charming. It's also a surprisingly great place for kids, granted if you had a little one, they don't have a high chair so make sure you bring a kid seat, preferably one that attaches to the table.”

“Incredible food, drinks, and staff. I genuinely cannot wait to go back and try some more amazing food. The oxtail pot pie was one of the best things I've ever eaten.”

“Everything everyone says about the food is true get the pot pie and the steak tartare. Incredible. Leo was especially awesome behind the bar. Funny, friendly, super helpful with making the right choices and coursing everything just right. If you can get a spot with him you'll be all set.”

“We waited about 1.5 hours for our reservation, but the food was very delicious. The ambiance was perfect. We were lucky to get seated at a booth since we were on the waitlist, and that’s usually reserved for bar seating. I attached pictures of some of the food. The date cake, like everyone says, is to die for. I really enjoyed the steak tartare as well. The naan was soft and well seasoned. I also loved that just about everything came with its own sauce — that made each dish even better. We definitely ordered too many appetizers. Of everything we ate, the samosa was probably the one we could’ve gone without. It tasted more like an Indian puff than a samosa to us, but it was still tasty.”
