Trino Steakhouse — top-tier american in West Loop. Sleek and intentional, with the aesthetic dialed in. The drinks match the food in quality. Hailey Pociask: "The oysters were unique and savory in the best way"

“What we had: - Shrimp & Grits - Pulpo a la gallego - Arctic Char (Fish) - Smash Potatoes - Trumpet Mushrooms (least fave) - Red Wine & a cocktail The flavors melded together nicely across each dish”
This place presents itself as a Latino steakhouse, but the food never really reflected that identity.
The service was impeccable. It’s the only reason I gave 2 stars and not 1.
I REALLY wanted to love this place.

“I highly recommend Trino Steakhouse.”
I highly recommend Trino Steakhouse! Ask for Danny. He is a great waiter that's passionate about the food and experience, and he offers great wine pairing recommendations. They started us off with a little bubbly (tasting size) for my partner's birthday. We then ordered drinks & our full meal. Dishes arrive as they're ready. What we had: - Shrimp & Grits - Pulpo a la gallego - Arctic Char (Fish) - Smash Potatoes - Trumpet Mushrooms (least fave) - Red Wine & a cocktail The flavors melded together nicely across each dish. So delicious 😋

“Trino is now one of my new favorite restaurants.”
Trino is now one of my new favorite restaurants! The food was impeccable, the drinks from there and Laberinto (their super cool speakeasy) were amazing, but most importantly the servers, bartenders, staff and everyone we interacted with there were truly the best! So nice, caring and went above and beyond for us. Will definitely be going back soon.

Had the opportunity to DJ here for New Year’s Eve and the energy in the room was amazing. Staff runs a smooth operation and the space feels very intentional, not just another steakhouse and bar setup. The food holds its own too, ribeye was cooked perfectly and the crab tostada was a standout. I really respect and appreciate the way they run things here. Can't wait to be back again!

“Thank you to Chef Sandoval for taking the time to greet is at our table.”
Thank you to Chef Sandoval for taking the time to greet is at our table. Our dinner experience was delicious! Travis' customer service was excellent (thanks for rolling with everything that we threw at you, lol)! The mushroom soup and caesar salad had add-in ingredients, which brought the dishes next-level! The crispy potato dish (deconstructed loaded potato) was yummm. My steak was tender, cooked as requested. Desserts, chocolate cake and apple, topped off the meal. Two bottles of wine, Flor de Canela and more drinks paired perfectly with the meal. Thanks again, Travis...you're the best!

Really fantastic food - interesting take on a steakhouse with a Mexican flair. The classics are executed perfectly and the other mexican finishes/dishes are the perfect compliment. You cannot miss the huitlacoche Bordelaise with the steaks.

We stopped by without a reservation during a short trip to Chicago, and everything was wonderful. The welcoming vibe, the atmosphere that was lively yet elegant and friendly, and the dishes with a hint of Latin American influence made the experience feel different from typical American restaurants. Every plate was flavourful, creative, and perfectly balanced. And it’s always a joy to be served by someone who clearly loves and excels at what they do—Danny was exactly that. He was attentive and made our dinner experience flawless. I’d definitely come back the next time I’m in Chicago.

“10s 10s 10s!!!!!!”
10s 10s 10s!!!!!!! I’m a big fan of Diego so I wanted to check out this new addition to the network. Trino had some BIG shoes to fill replacing KŌMO, and they did not disappoint. Every item I consumed was rich and *bursting* with flavor. The lamb empanada might rival El Che for best I’ve tried in Chicago. $9 is steep but… oooh the way it tasted changed my brain chemistry. 30/10. The Wagyu steak sandwich was unnnnnnbelievable. Zero notes. 50/10. The mac and cheese was thick and really sat down in my tummy. I did not finish it or the sandwich and packed a decent portion for lunch the next day. The patio verde and wine were also quite good. Overall a solid happy hour and the staff are very personable. I felt like I was eating with friends. Heather and Jordan made me feel so welcome. Pay them more!!!! Special thanks to Armando, Danny, Alia, Henry, and Oscar as well for making me feel welcome. 🫶🏾 See yall soon. 🙂↕️

“Trino Steakhouse is an new nice addition to the West Loop dining scene.”
Trino Steakhouse is an new nice addition to the West Loop dining scene. We started with the Cangrejo Tostada and Shrimp & Grits—both packed with flavor and beautifully presented. The Bucatini Polanco was rich and perfectly cooked, while the Skirt steak with Huitlacoche Bordelaise sauce and Trumpet Mushrooms was the star of the night—tender, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. To finish, the tres leches tiramisu was the perfect dessert: light, creamy, and indulgent. The atmosphere is stylish yet welcoming, and the service was attentive from start to finish. Trino is a good spot to visit in the West Loop for anyone looking for a fresh take on a steakhouse experience.

Atmosphere is a cozy cross btwn industrial vibe (with exposed brick) and a mid century modern speakeasy (velvety colors, murals on the walls and books on the shelves), but all while getting to listen to classic salsa / bachata / merengue hits (softly in the background). Food was absolutely amazing - pulpo, lamb empanadas, skirt steak, arctic char and both the mash and fries. Three layer cake was a little rich for my taste with more like a vanilla watery sorbet than gelato, but glad I tried a bite or two. Service was attentive and never missed an opportunity to fill water. Will definitely be comin back
