The Duck Inn — Bridgeport american that sets the standard. Loud in the best way, with real pulse to the room. Drink selection punches above its weight. Susan Blew: "The duck is the best I’ve ever had, and so are the hot dogs"

What a gem! Absolutely loved the look and feel— Warm, welcoming, sophisticated styling with chill music. Enjoyed restaurant week menu. Service was perfect without being pretentious at all. The food is what will ultimately bring us back. Beet carpaccio was creative and delicious. Both duck confit and braised short rib expertly prepared- fully of flavor with perfectly cooked veggies to round out each bite. Enjoyed the soup, risotto and dessert too. Looking forward to our next meal there and plan to enjoy their 1/2 price wine on Tuesdays!! A+

“I love a good burger and the Duck Inn definitely knows how to make a good burger.”
I love a good burger and the Duck Inn definitely knows how to make a good burger. We had the duck wings as a starter. I was hesitant but they were so tasty and tender. Oh and the sauce, just so good. Onto the burger - amazing. It is like an elevated Big Mac because of the sauce, and so worth it. The meat is juicy and the burger is made for a perfect bite each time. The bartender was very kind and attentive. Great service, phenomenal bites, and it’s on the southwest side!

“We originally headed to Duck Inn for one mission: try their signature Duck Inn Dog.”
We originally headed to Duck Inn for one mission: try their signature Duck Inn Dog. What we ended up discovering was an experience that reached far beyond a single dish. We started with cocktails at the bar, where the relaxed vintage vibe instantly set the tone. It feels like the kind of place where time moves a little slower and everyone looks better under the lighting. When our table was ready, we were led to the garden, a charming, tucked-away space that feels like stepping into someone’s secret backyard retreat. From there, we tried a range of dishes, and every single one hit the mark. Thoughtful, flavorful, and executed with confidence. Come for the Duck Inn Dog, stay for everything else. Whether you stick to the signature or explore the broader menu, you won’t regret the visit.

“The location is outside of the downtown area, closer to Chinatown.”
The location is outside of the downtown area, closer to Chinatown. We came on a Friday night so the restaurant was packed and buzzing. We were seated right away. The menu is rather limited, we were disappointed we couldn't order a half order of the rotisserie duck since it was just the two of us. We decided on the BBQ duck wings which are yummy and saucy. The Brussels sprouts are unique and tasty, with the brown butter crumble setting it apart. The Foie gras terrine is excellent, complemented by brioche and black currants sauce. The wagyu pappardelle is very good, the beef tongue ragu works so well with the al dente pasta. The duck Inn dog has the heart snap to it and amazing relish, the best Chicago dog we've had. The passion fruit lassi cocktail is wonderful.

“The rotisserie duck and foie at the duck inn was exquisite.”
The rotisserie duck and foie at the duck inn was exquisite. We paired it with a Pinot noir and it was wonderful match. Great atmosphere and knowledgeable service from Mark. I highly recommend this restaurant.

“Must go for quintessential Chicago.”
Must go for quintessential Chicago. Highly seasonal menu with some staples and an outstanding beverage program. Everything about this place screams we KNOW food, drink and service but in a completely unpretentious way, which is my personal favorite. You walk in and are transported back in time yet the food is elegant and innovative. I feel proud that this restaurant is in our city :)

This was long on my list of places to check out, but it wasn't until Amex's new Resy credit that we finally made the journey out here. Honestly regret not trying it sooner. Everything was excellent from the fun, casual ambiance and very friendly wait staff to the superb dishes and drinks (usually just a one drink, if that, person these days but the drinks were so good that I had to try a second one and was not disappointed). Forgot to take the photo but the duck isn't truly a whole duck since it didn't have the wings but we still loved it. Also not pictured was the chocolate beneigt, which we really liked but did taste more like a brownie than a beneigt to us.
