Small Cheval
Small Cheval Lakeview is a go-to for juicy double cheeseburgers, golden fries with garlic aioli, and surprisingly good value steps from Wrigley Field—ideal before or after a Cubs game, with TVs, relaxed energy, and friendly service. Gluten-free options are clearly marked, but quality can vary: some diners report overcooked burgers, stale fries, loud music, or frustrating pickup and delivery support during busy periods.

“loved the burgers here! gluten feee options marked on the menu and come out flagged with an allergen sticker. i had no symptoms and im dying to come back again!”

“This is a great place to grab a quick meal and enjoy a few drinks. The atmosphere is relaxed and inviting, and the TVs throughout the restaurant make it an excellent spot to catch a live game while you eat. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, making the experience even more enjoyable. The food was excellent, arriving quickly without sacrificing quality or flavor. I really appreciate how well everything is executed here, from the service to the food and overall atmosphere. It's a place I would gladly visit again and highly recommend.”

“I’ve been wanting to try Small Cheval for a minute, so since I was already nearby and hungry we decided to stop in. The place was actually pretty empty when we got there, which was nice honestly. Chill atmosphere, good music, good energy… pretty much what you’d expect around Wrigleyville. The staff was super friendly right away too. I ordered the signature double cheeseburger with the golden fries and garlic aioli. Food came out really fast. The fries were SUPER hot, which for me is always a good sign. Crispy outside, soft inside, and the garlic aioli made them even better. But the burger was the star for sure. The meat was really tender and juicy with that perfect smashed burger edge where it gets a little crispy around the outside. You could actually taste the seasoning in the beef instead of it just tasting greasy. The cheese was melted perfectly into the patties and mixed so well with the grilled onions and pickles. The dijonnaise added this creamy tangy flavor that tied everything together without overpowering the burger. Overall just a really solid burger spot. Glad I finally tried it.”
“My wife, daughter and I went down to Wrigley for the Noah Kahan concert on 7/14. We decided to check out Small Cheval. We ordered and waited and waited. It was packed, but it still seemed to take an extra long time for our food. We went up to check on the food and they had mistakenly entered the wrong pager number to let us know our food was ready. The manager took care of us right away, fired new food so it was hot and fresh, brought it to our table and provided my daughter with a free milk shake. We were not expecting that, however it was a nice surprise. We are all human, we make mistakes especially when it was so packed. I was so happy that in todays world where customer service is not the greatest that the manager took care of the mistake and made it right! We will certainly return as the food was delicious!”
“Great food as always. Quick and nice service. Ordered online and food ready a little faster than estimate.”
“Absolutely the best burger ever. Plus, you're at Wrigley. What's not to love? 10/10 would recommend.”
“Top notch burgers, top notch fries. My go-to before or after games at Wrigley.”
“SUPER impressed at the pricing, taste, and value for a tourist spot right next to Wrigley Field!”
“Anyone who tells you this is like Au Cheval, hasn’t been to Au Cheval. More like Billy Goat than its namesake flagship on Randolph. Small Cheval is tasty but get the double burger, you’ll be glad you did. The Wrigley location isn’t their best effort. For Small Chevals, try Wicker Park.”
