Our server, Jasmine, was friendly and attentive without being overbearing. Burger s and chips are delicious. The beef is high quality, not overworked, and cooked as ordered. The malt is to die for. They even split one to go for two of us!

Dude! Major shout out to the bartender and kitchen tonight. I was served two excellent old fashions while waiting on some to-go nachos after a really long day. I just got home and these saints separated the nacho toppings from the chips! I was fully expecting a soggy mess, and now I’m SOOO happy.

Excellent lunch here today! Michell was a wonderful server and the atmosphere was fun and relaxing. We ate WELL and it was delicious! Had the chicken tenders (1/2 split order shown in pic!), cheddar burger with bacon, and turkey club - all were fantastic.

“What a wonderful little gem.”

What a wonderful little gem! We decided to give their happy hour a try and while we were there, we tried their burger and tuna melt. The happy hour was amazing. All the drinks on the happy hour menu are five dollars, and they were very well made. Our server, Jill, was so friendly and attentive; she checked on us frequently and always with a big smile😊 Thank you, Jill… it was a wonderful experience and we can’t wait to return soon!

“Well worth the stop, wish we could have stayed longer.”

Well worth the stop, wish we could have stayed longer. The history of this place is felt in the good service given. Had one drink the Grunts margarita and it was delicious. Reading the menu kept me chuckling and making me want to order something but we had plans but stopped because of a recommendation. I also extended that recommendation, stop by and have a bite!

“I hadn't been to this place in Eons.”

I hadn't been to this place in Eons. My mom used to take me here ALL the time back in the 70's. I decided to take my own daughter here for lunch today, as we frequently dine at Lettuce Entertain You restaurants but my daughter had never been here. The aroma of delicious food was bouncing down the street as we approached the restaurant. We were promptly greeted and seated. I looked around the restaurant and immediately had a BLAST from the PAST!! Everything looked EXACTLY as I remembered from my childhood, with the exception of a missing salad bar that used to be set up in the center of the restaurant. Our server, Kylie, quickly came over to take our order. We ordered the potato skins as an appetizer and they were AMAZING!! We both decided that we wanted to try a malt so, we ordered the "Healthier" malt options, made with yogurt and low fat milk. I got a mix of coffee and peanut butter and my daughter got coffee. WOW! What a delicious treat! We both then ordered burgers. I got the bacon cheddar burger and my daughter ordered the Grunt Burger. Both were incredible. However, I should have chosen the chips instead of the fries, because my daughter's chips were delish and the fries were just okay. After TOTALLY enjoying our meal, I had to take a washroom break and let's just say that I'm happy that I ate before going to the washroom. Though the restaurant had basically just opened for lunch and there were very few people dining, the single use washroom reeked of urine and didn't appear to be very clean. They really need to get that in order. All in all, the dining experience was quite enjoyable and the food was VERY good. Kylie's service was impeccable!

R.J. Grunts is a neighborhood favorite in Lincoln Park. They serve spectacular food and have one of the best happy hours in the city of Chicago. Service is great and the atmosphere is wonderful, I’ve been going here for 10+ years and it’s never failed to disappoint me. A great place to grab food at any time of the day, shoutout to Lettuce Entertain You.

“This was my first time here.”

This was my first time here. The entire crew was awesome! Friendly, attentive and fun. The Baked French onion soup as well as the Chili were delicious. The boneless chicken wings were the best I've ever had! They had a light, tempura batter. A plentiful serving over homemade chips. The cocktails were great too! I'll definitely be back when I'm in the area again.
