“The prime sliced brisket is the thing to anchor the tray, and it arrives properly smoky with a rendered fat cap and a bark that has real color and real depth to it. The kind of brisket that pulls apart gently rather than falling apart, which is the distinction that separates a well-smoked brisket from one that was merely cooked long. The pastrami sandwich is the other order that keeps coming up in accounts of what to get here, the meat tender and peppery and stacked on bread with the right mustard-to-meat ratio, a different and equally compelling reason to sit down. The hot link is the sausage order worth adding to the tray, snappy-skinned and properly seasoned with a heat that builds gradually. On the sides, the elote style corn with cotija is the one that converts people who came only thinking about the meat, sweet and creamy and salty in the right combination. The Chicago Twinkie, a fried cornbread stuffed with brisket and jalapeño cream cheese, is the wildcard that sounds like a state fair novelty and eats like something the kitchen was very deliberate about. There's also a ramen bar in the basement called High Five Ramen that runs its own operation entirely, if somehow you've finished the BBQ and still have room.”

“Had the prime brisket and pork belly add half a pound each plus macaroni and cheese and banana pudding. The brisket was some of the best I've ever eaten it was better than the prize-winning Memphis in May BBQ winner called Gettin Basted. Staff were friendly in chatty while preparing the meats and sides. Nice outdoor seating area that served multiple restaurants. Highly recommend!”

“The only problem I have is that I find the pace loud for me. But the brisket is the best!! The melt in mouth ! Amazing!!!”

“Summer 2025: Absolutely loved this place. You can smell the smoked meat as soon as soon as you turn onto the cobblestone. I tried the chopped brisket, pork belly, pork ribs, spicy pickles, elote corn, cornbread, and the banana pudding. Loved every bite. Will definitely go back. Tables are first come first serve despite the reserved signs on them. The bar has decent offerings too. Update summer 2026: came on a Thursday afternoon. Tables were mostly full and everyone was watching the world cup but there was only a very short line to order. Food was on point again. This is a prime time to come here since I hear it can get really busy in the weekends.”

“Excelente sabor súper amables ! Todo de 10”

“Went here to watch the England playing! As usual, all are super delicious and the portion is big for two people. Enjoy eating the meat while watching England. Will always be back here!”

“First time visitor while visiting my son. Absolutely a must visit. Cool, cobblestone alley entry. Outdoor park bench style seating when weather permits. Inside ambiance is old warehouse, really fun, with seating at big wooden tables with benches Oktoberfest style. Order at the front counter, meats served by the 1/2 pound (around $15, depending on type of meat.) Sides are delicious, you have to try the coleslaw! Staff is friendly and fun. Free refills on Softdrinks. I can't wait to take the wife on our next visit!”

“It's hidden in a gorgeous alley!! Insanely accommodating, good vibes, great music. Tom waites X Kurt Cobain atmosphere.”

“Will be back any chance I get!! Yummy food & tasty beer! It's always a vibe here.”
