“Nice people work here. I think Lori waited on my. Decent prices. Grreat gravy!”

“Al’s Grill is the kind of spot that reminds me of the midwest middle of nowhere breakfast spot. The food hits the mark hearty, flavorful, and served hot. I had the Al's Skillet breakfast, crispy potatoes, meaty , fresh veggies, and perfectly cooked sunnyside up eggs on top. It’s the kind of breakfast that sets the tone for a great day. My coffee was just right. But what really made the experience stand out was the service. Kathy, my waitress, was incredibly attentive checking in several times to make sure everything was good and that I felt taken care of. Her kindness and professionalism added a personal touch that made the whole visit feel like home. If you’re in Oak Park and craving a solid meal with genuine hospitality, Al’s Grill is the place for really good breakfast.”

“Great food for a good price. Huge portions, everything was cooked perfectly, and our server was fantastic! Was visiting Chicago for the weekend and I was so happy with my first time here my boyfriend and I came back a second time! If I was a local this would be my go-to breakfast spot.”

“I was in town on business and my girlfriend recommended this place. I am so glad that I took her advice. The banana bliss French toast was so divine. I got a two egg breakfast as well which was delicious with the best bacon I have had in a while. I will definitely be back to this place on my next visit.”

“Local moms and pops grill. Been around a long time. Sent water back 3 times for things floating.. soup was very good i forgot a pic of the other food but my daughter liked the gyros was skimpy on the meat.”

“Had Scambled eggs with cheese Grits & potatoes with onions & peppers ..very good”

“Al's Grill is comfort food utopia. Breakfast carries on the great diner tradition. Pancakes and a side of Ham, maybe some crispy Hash browns brings you back to the great diner traditions out east!!!. A family business run by people who care and love their work. Just open the menu and order, all prepared with care and value. Been going to Al's for 30 plus years.....Must say after recent visit quality has dropped off from 5 to 2 stars It’s ok but not the Al’s of old Pancakes were blah you fooled me if they were legit Meat loaf mediocre served with what appeared frozen veg melody omelet was thin watery like they were stretching the eggs Updated March 2026”
“One of my favorite “greasy-spoons”! Lori was our attentive server this morning and was great! Eggs done right, buttery grits and extra hot water for my Earl Gray. Thanks for a great breakfast and great service!”
“I TOOK A FRIEND OF MINE TO AL'S AND HE, ENJOYED THE FOOD.. AND THE NICE!!! WAITRESS WE, HAD.”
“I go there with my two kids to get breakfast once in a while and for my kids ninth birthday we went there and we had a lot of fun and he even got a cake he will come back”
