Clean dining, delicious food, friendly service, fair prices. Especially loved the lechon kawali, lumpia, pinakbet and the mango juice. Reminds me of home-cooked meals growing up and family parties.

I love that Subo has been consistent with serving us good Filipino food. Edit: I tried their Fresh Lumpia because they have signs displayed that they serve it. Well, They don't know what fresh Lumpia is because the one served to me was sautéed, cooked and not what a fresh lumpia is. And it's wasn't tasty.

So yum! This cozy counter service Filipino food spot offers a wide array of entree options that you can mix and match with your garlic rice bowl. During our visit, we tried out the crispy & savory fried milkfish Bangus, the tender and well-seasoned Bistec, the rich pork pieces in blood stew Dinuguan, and the crispy pork belly Lechon. Every dish was well seasoned and incredibly comforting. The garlic rice that came with the bowl had very generous portion too. We left very full and satisfied.

I learned that this has new management, I had stopped going since before CoVid because I simply didn’t like their cooking. So with new blood, I decided to check it out. I ordered pancit bihon to go and was surprised at the portion. I had to add a little seasoning, soy sauce, which means it tasted a little underseasoned. I prefer it that way than for it to come too salty and will be hard to adjust. I also had the pork and chicken empanada. It has a crispy shell and the filling is nicely seasoned. Also a good size.

Quick grab of some local Filipino cuisine. Their lumpia was amazing. Try the halo halo as well… it’s a small spot with limited seating most people take out here so that’s what we did…

I had to check this place out because I believed that this restaurant was founded by the former owners of the now-closed 3R Oriental Market. When I was a kid my Filipino father took me to that 3R market which had an eatery inside. I remember them for their Pork and chicken barbecue skewers and I remember them appearing saucy back in the day. I just came to this place an ordered one of each. I was told there was a 25 minute wait for these to prepared if I wanted them. I agreed, payed, then waited. I payed in cash because (according to one sign) the total was under the minimum for card payments but, hilariously, I realized they had a sign that cash payments must be in EXACT change. I mean, come on. Pick one or the other. After waiting. My skewers finally came out and the appearance and taste were very similar to how they were back at 3R. I provided a picture of the skewers but keep in mind that I already took a few bites. They were good. It's a shame they were only alacarte and they didn't have a combo or meal that came with rice. At $3.99 a skewer, they weren't cheap but they did bring me back to my childhood. Now my experience may not be enough to tell you if you should go or not. There are other reviews which are radically different from mine that are much more detailed than mine. I just came there for some BBQ skewers before I start my vegetarian diet in the new year.
