Every time I go to Chicago, I stop at Piece. Thin crust New Haven style pizza. Much better than the deep dish Chicago is known for. Beers are excellent. The Golden Arm Kolsch is fantastic. The pie in the photo is Hot Doug's Atomic Pizza. Tremendous!

Piece sits right on North Avenue in Wicker Park and brings something a little different to the Chicago pizza conversation, New Haven style, thin and crispy, cut into pie shapes the way it should be rather than squares. The space is big, sunlit during the day, and feels like the kind of place built for groups, sports on TV, that kind of relaxed gathering energy. We got the white clam pizza, which had a good amount of garlic and a briny hit from the clams that worked really well with the thin crust. We also tried the bacon and onion, simple but done with care, and a goat cheese dip on the side that ended up stealing a little of the spotlight from the pizza itself. Someone at the table got the fried chicken pizza with hot sauce drizzled on top, and it had a real kick to it without being unbearable, the crust holding up nicely under everything piled on. The beer list here is a big part of the draw too, they brew their own on site, and the Kolsch in particular was light and crisp, a good match for the richer toppings on the pizza. It's a popular spot, especially on weekends, so expect a short wait, but the room is big enough that turnover happens quickly even when it's full.

Stopped in on 5/31/26 while in town hanging out with family. My uncle told me this was their favorite spot in Wicker Park. Man oh man was it good. Being from Texas my bar for pizza is probably much lower than your average Chicagoan. That said I’ve been to every major pizza city in the US, and I’m not joking when I say Piece is probably in the top 3 pizza places I’ve ever been to. Crust, perfect, crisp and structural while still having enough chew to the crust. I will be back on every future trip to Chicago.

Piece is the BEST! We hosted our wedding reception there for about 30 adults/kids, held in the pit (front area). This was an incredibly affordable option in a sea of other places that charge ridiculous fees when you say the word “wedding”. The staff were perfect: available but never in the way! The food was prompt and everyone got what they needed! I can’t recommend this experience enough!!

Portions are good for sharing, spacious restaurant. Can get busy but table turnover seemed to be pretty fast. Hot Doug's Atomic for a red pizza option and Honey Butter Fried Chicken for a white pizza option are the best choices!

Great New Haven style pizza. Always have a nice beer selection to choose from, brewed in house. Nice big space and a large bar to sit at. Definitely worth a visit while in town.

Great New Haven style pizza Specifically the white clam pizza was great. I’ve had the atomic Doug before as well and that one is amazing with the sausage and caramelized onions.

Popular award winning pizzeria/brewery in Wicker Park, I came early as they were the only brewery in the area open for lunch. One of the last stops before I left town, I was pre gaming for my later flight. I got a Door Code and The Weight. The Door Code was good, smooth, light and crisp. The Weight was odd for me, not sure why but I was getting heavy coffee notes from this. So much so I asked the bartender about it and he looked at me funny. Not sure why I was picking up that flavor. I was still able to drink it down fairly easily. I didn't have any pizza but everyone else was chowing down. I want to get in on these lobster pies if I can be in town on a Tuesday. Clam pizza is also a must try for me. I enjoyed the indoor sun while I read, plus bonus points for selling koozies.

I grew up in East Haven, Ct currently live in Orlando Florida and one of the best pizzas I have ever had has been here at piece pizza in Chicago. Dare I say better than the originator of new haven style pizza frank pepes apizza. I tried deep dish I tried tavern style and this place just hits the spot. Also add on that they have really great beer and this is truly a win. Should I ever find myself back in Chicago I will be here.

Piece Pizza: Where our 16-year love story started, and honestly, the pizza is still the hottest thing here. Back in Chicago for our anniversary, and the vibe is still immaculate. Incredible service, and the spinach, tomato dip is a MUST. Just a warning: these pizzas are NOT playing around. The "medium" is a mountain of deliciousness. Could've gotten a small, but hey, leftovers for breakfast! We’ll be back much sooner next time. See you then. 🍕❤️

Excellent place with really good pizza and a some really nice beers! Second time visiting this place but the first time that i try their pizza, and it really lived up to my expectations! The brewery brew some really good pilsners. My favourite is the Door Code, a german pilsner. But also The Weight (pale ale), Top Heavy Hefeweizen and O'Rourken for the Weekend (Dortmund lager) are exceptionally good! Its well worth to visit this place and the area too!

Fun, ‘hopping’, pizzeria and beer brewery. Pizza outstanding with unique, varied beer menu. Also gluten free pizza excellent. Centrally located in Willow Park near Barnes and Noble and The Robey hotel.
