I usually get mine with no onions because sometimes they’re overpowering but this time I’m glad I got them because of how finely the onions are chopped, allowing me to fully enjoy an authentic taco experience 😋

This is what a steak and al pastor taco should taste like. Generous portions, well seasoned flavorful single tortilla. The tacos are being prepared outside straight from the trompo and charcoal almost like you’re at a back yard carne asada. The staff members are welcoming and friendly. I sampled their agua de fresa, refreshing and delicious. 3 types of salsas were brought to my table. A guacamole style green, red sauce and a smoked dark salsa. All very good. I couldn’t decide which was better the asada or the pastor. But by far the best pastor I’ve had anywhere in Chicago.

The best al pastor tacos I've had, hands down. I tried the asada taco too, wasn't bad but just alot of fat on the meat. All of the salsas were amazing too!

Perhaps the best street tacos in Chicago. The place feels like eating at your cousin’s house, except your cousin happens to have extraordinary precision with a grill and trompo. The restaurant itself is a small shack with a tree-shaded courtyard behind it, warm, informal, and immediately welcoming. The traditional al pastor tacos are the best thing on the menu: spit-roasted with pineapple, aggressively seasoned, juicy, and piquant. The carne asada is grilled over charcoal and served medium-rare with classic street-taco accompaniments and a generous slab of avocado. The salsas are beautiful: a salsa falsa verde, an earthy chipotle salsa, and a traditional salsa roja. The guacamole is made to order and served in a carved pig-shaped molcajete of volcanic stone, a charming touch that somehow fits the place perfectly. The service was just as memorable as the food. As people left, the staff called out goodbyes and asked how everything had been. It felt less like dining at a restaurant than being welcomed into a family gathering. A genuinely lovely experience.

The tacos were delicious, I got two steaks and a veggie. Everyone already raved about the carne asada so I don’t need to talk much about that. The veggie is surprisingly delectable as well, it comes with mushrooms, cheese, tomato, and avocado. All combined to create a great vegetarian option that is comparable to the popular meat options. I usually get mine with no onions because sometimes they’re overpowering but this time I’m glad I got them because of how finely the onions are chopped, allowing me to fully enjoy an authentic taco experience 😋

What a new neighborhood gem! Large portions, delicious food, and friendly people. The steak tacos really hit the spot. Had enough guacamole to take home. Looking forward to my next visit.
