Mr. Shawarma — well-regarded middle eastern in Uptown. Hospitality you can feel from the door. Affordable, owner on site. Kat Hoth: "The kufta kebabs are delicious, the salad is perfectly flavored, and the rice is so well seasoned"

“The meat was cooked perfectly and so flavorful and juice and the salad mine came with was so fresh and dressed in a homemade lemon and oil dressing”
Been here a couple times, but last time I came they sealed a fly in my food 🥲 you guys should be careful.

“Delicious from start to finish.”
Delicious from start to finish. The meat was charred to perfection — maximum flavor but not burnt, which takes a careful eye. We got the vegetable plate and 4 way grill plate and it could easily have fed four people. Great value for how much you get. My only regret is that I forget to ask for hot sauce! Will definitely be returning soon.

I don't often write reviews but I have to for this place. The guys working there are so nice. I had the chicken shawarma sandwich, SO GOOD! They're very friendly and the food is great. Very affordable. Very nice to see more middle eastern food in Uptown! Sorry for the pic, I took a bite before taking the picture haha. Delicious!

“Ordered the Kufta Wrap on their first day open.”
Ordered the Kufta Wrap on their first day open. Really delicious! Glad to see new locally-owned businesses opening in Uptown/Sheridan Park. The owner told me the hours will be 11-8 daily.

“A neighbor recommended Mr Shawarma and decided to give them a try.”
A neighbor recommended Mr Shawarma and decided to give them a try. I ordered the fried shrimp and the chicken wings and they were fried to perfection. However the chicken wings were too salty and had feathers 😩 The place is very clean and the employees very attentive. It is located on a business strip so parking can be challenging. I live next door so I am lucky. I do recommend Mr Shawarma. Open every day except Monday from 12 to 8 PM and Saturday from 12:30 PM to 6 PM.

“I love Middle Eastern food and decided to show support for small business owners.”
I love Middle Eastern food and decided to show support for small business owners. The shawarma and chicken was decent. The salad is a problem. The most sour salad I ever ate and it was like straight distilled vinegar. I hope the chef sees this and change that recipe because I would like to support again.

“This place has decent/ok food, but compared to other places it is lacking.”
This place has decent/ok food, but compared to other places it is lacking. If you go to other places for kebab (example falafel and grill) they will give you a plate of hummus, naan, a plate of salad along with your main course of rice + kebab. This place charges more money, but does not include hummus and half of your main plate is salad. You have to ask for garlic and hot sauce and they also do not provide water unless you want to pay for a bottle. This plate was over $20 and other places will give you much more for the same price.

“Quite expensive as this came out to be a little over $18 but not a bad place for Middle Eastern food.”
