Kabobi - Persian and Mediterranean Grill — well-regarded middle eastern in Albany Park. Traditional preparation with honest flavors. Service that's warm without being over the top, and open late. Shoaib Khalil: "The kabobs were tender and well seasoned, the rice was fragrant and fluffy"

We visited this place for the first time recently, and after seeing the huge portions, we ordered just three dishes for five people. Everything came on massive plates with meat, rice, and grilled tomatoes. I don’t remember the exact names of the dishes, but honestly, everything was insanely delicious. Even with only three dishes, we were completely full and still had leftovers to take home. The tea was excellent, with bergamot, and they happily refilled it for free when we asked. After dinner, they even brought us a complimentary dessert with the tea, which was a really nice touch. Overall, we were very happy with our visit. The only thing that could use some improvement is the service. The staff in the dining area was a bit too pushy and would literally try to take plates and utensils out of your hands. I think it would be better if they waited until guests were clearly finished, or at least were more delicate about it. That said, despite the service issues, I’m still giving this place 5 stars.

Not gonna lie, this is not my typical choice for cuisine, but this delivered in a way I was not expecting. The lamb kabob was pretty average tasting for lamb, but the boneless chicken breast kabob was outstanding. On top of that, the portions are just downright enormous. We could've shared just one plate, but decided to do our own thing and had a second meal with the leftovers. Labeled as a "Persian restaurant" by Google. There really wasn't any kind of foreign decor that made it feel super ethnic or anything. Loads of seating here and the restaurant could accomodate well over a hundred diners easily. I'm certainly open to returning, that chicken was downright special.

My favorite restaurant in Chicago, and it’s a high praise because I’m disappointed by 90% of the restaurants I’ve tried here. Whenever I need a pick me up, Kabobi never disappoints. The grilled meats are well seasoned (properly spiced and salted, not catering to a bland palate) and almost always cooked to perfection (rarely over or undercooked). And I’ve dined here for more than 10 times! If you’re deciding between Noon o Kabab or Kabobi, Kabobi has better flavors. Noon o Kabab is good too but maybe preferred if you’re not into salt, or spices and herbs. The portion is generous and the price is fair, especially the lunch deals! I have lots of love for this restaurant. Our go-to is chicken fillets, lamb / beef koubideh. And the lamb chops if we are feeling fancy.

“Kabobi is an absolute gem for Persian cuisine.”
Kabobi is an absolute gem for Persian cuisine. From the moment you walk in, you’re welcomed with warm hospitality and an authentic atmosphere that immediately sets the tone. The food is outstanding. Perfectly grilled, flavorful, and clearly made with high-quality ingredients. The kabobs were tender and well seasoned, the rice was fragrant and fluffy, and the portions were generous without feeling heavy.

“Such a satisfying spot for Persian food with generous portions.”
Such a satisfying spot for Persian food with generous portions! The lamb shank was incredibly tender and fell right off the bone, and the Adas Polo with Morgh was full of flavor, with fragrant rice mixed with dates and lentils. Portions are massive - even the lunch “half portions” left us with plenty of leftovers. The staff is warm and welcoming, and the place has a lively, communal feel. Would definitely return for more.

“I absolutely love this place.”
I absolutely love this place. The food is outstanding. Aside from the kabob platters my favorite is the Spinach Beef Stew. Delectable! Service is amazing and prompt. The vibes are immaculate. The lighting is good. The music is tasteful and at the appropriate volume. The hot sauce is so good I wished they bottled it and sold it. Also they're open until 1am. Wow. I wish I could eat here every day. Thank you Kabobi.

“Amazing food, good portions.”
Amazing food, good portions! The humus is amazing every single time!!! We waited a little longer than usual due to it being a full house on Christmas night. Regardless, the food was brought to our table once we ordered it at the counter and was fresh and hot per usual. The wait was worth it! This place never disappoints, my husband surprised me after years of not coming by since we live closer to the Noon o Kabob in hickory hills (about 5 minutes away) but hands down I’ll do the 40 minute drive for this place. So excited to come by again soon!

Awesome place! Nice friendly staff and a pretty environment with good accommodations. We went there twice for dinner and as you see in the photo the food portions are large. One order of rice was enough for 2 people. We got lamb koubideh, bone in chicken juje, ash, zeyton parvarde, and pistachio ice cream. The ash was great! It was just right and I had to order it twice! The juje was really good and juicy, try it for sure! The koubideh could be a little better, it was a bit dry but overall tasted good. Pistachio ice cream was really close to authentic and I recommend it. It was the best I tasted so far. The zeyton parvarde was not very authentic and as you can see in the photo it is a lot (+11$). I think they substituted pomegranate with cranberry and there were not enough herbs used in the preparation. Also the mint yogurt drink was great. 10/10 recommend!

We ordered food for a large gathering (around 200 meals) with a wide variety of dishes, everything from koobideh and joojeh kabob to ghormeh sabzi, kashk-e bademjan, and even baklava. Every single item was excellent and tasted fresh and authentic. We’re in Iowa, and they delivered the food, kept it hot, and helped with warming and serving, which made the whole event so smooth. The manager was incredibly generous; he sent more than we expected and really went above and beyond. The staff were friendly, professional, and organized. Our ceremony went perfectly, and everyone was very happy. Thank you so much. highly recommended!

They moved to a new location I guess. The menu is great. The portions are big. I felt they are slightly pricey for the taste. Great staff and clean place.
