I had the pleasure of dining at Al-Diar Restaurant on two consecutive days, and both visits were exceptional. On my first day, I ordered the chicken mandi—perfectly cooked, aromatic, and deeply flavorful. The next day, I returned for the lamb mandi, which was just as impressive: tender, rich, and cooked to absolute perfection. The rice was fragrant, well-seasoned, and complemented the meat beautifully. The Adani tea was excellent—warm, spiced, and comforting. I also tried the masoob, and it was an outstanding dessert: rich, authentic, and beautifully balanced. A perfect way to end the meal. Beyond the food, the service was excellent. The owner, Abu Abdulaziz, is incredibly kind, welcoming, and hospitable, making you feel like a guest in his own home rather than just a customer. If you are looking for authentic Yemeni cuisine, generous portions, and genuine hospitality, this place is a must. Highly recommended — I will definitely be coming back.

“This is a no-frills place where you come for good food.”

This is a no-frills place where you come for good food. Many meat and rice dishes on the menu and portion sizes are huge. Try the Adeni tea which is similar to authentic Masala chai. It’s a small cozy place with few tables only so you may need to take out food.

Tried Al Diar and grabbed the mandi lamb, haneeth lamb, mandi chicken, fahsa lamb, lemon mint drink, and soup. Everything was solid the fahsa was the standout, absolutely amazing! The lemon mint was super refreshing too. Definitely a spot worth coming back to.
