“المندي لذيذ طعم وشكل وريحه :) المكان صغير بشكل عام تاكل وتمشي الخدمه لطيفه جدا وسريعه”

“My first Yemeni food experience and it was absolutely incredible. Come in a group 4 or at least bring a friend and enjoy shareable plates. This was easily the best ful I have ever had in my life. I would honestly come back just to have that! Everything was greatly spiced and filling. The milk tea is absolutely fantastic. The dessert was a bit too sweet however was very enjoyable.”

“Humble place and great owner with authentic , no frills, yummy food. Pricing is very genuine and the food is super delicious- have a good variety of both chicken and goat dishes. Also serves freshly squeezed orange juice while most restaurants served canned juices. However, the seating and decor are all very humble. So walk in, if you like the food . If you are looking for a great atmosphere/ decor, get a take out:)”

“Place is great. Meat was very tender. I’m not a fan of rice that you have to keep removing hard pieces and spices from. But that’s my problem not there’s. Nice people. Price is fair for the amount. I’ll try other items soon.”

“Obsessed with the lamb mandani from here! Absolutely love the owner (+ Yemeni ppl in general) are so sweet and welcoming!! SUPPORT FAMILY RUN BUSINESS, ESP IN RIVER NORTH/OLD TOWN AREA!!”

“I had the pleasure of dining at Al-Diar Restaurant on two consecutive days, and both visits were exceptional. On my first day, I ordered the chicken mandi—perfectly cooked, aromatic, and deeply flavorful. The next day, I returned for the lamb mandi, which was just as impressive: tender, rich, and cooked to absolute perfection. The rice was fragrant, well-seasoned, and complemented the meat beautifully. The Adani tea was excellent—warm, spiced, and comforting. I also tried the masoob, and it was an outstanding dessert: rich, authentic, and beautifully balanced. A perfect way to end the meal. Beyond the food, the service was excellent. The owner, Abu Abdulaziz, is incredibly kind, welcoming, and hospitable, making you feel like a guest in his own home rather than just a customer. If you are looking for authentic Yemeni cuisine, generous portions, and genuine hospitality, this place is a must. Highly recommended — I will definitely be coming back.”

“I came from Virginia to this place and it was genuinely the best lamb i ever had.”

“Masha-Allah, one of the best Yemeni foods I've tasted in the USA. Reminded me of original Yemeni food. Clean and fresh food, great customer service with lovely staff. I definitely recommend this place if you want to try the original flavors of yemeni food.”

“The food was really good, we were around 6 people, we came in for lunch, hospitality was so good. Much recommended! If you are near downtown and looking for halal food options, this can definitely be to go place. We didn’t take the pictures of food (realized it later)”
