i order a caldo de res and the portion was very small and the price was over $30 not recomending thiss higher prices low quality food and it wasnt that good they didnt put any sauces or limes just the caldo with no napkins nothing just a simple caldo not worth it.
Very bad service not only did the Lady that answered me had me waiting to take my order on the phone and hung up on me the 1st time on the second call she was rude and said they were busy and still left me on the phone for long.
By the pictures online I was expecting something better from this place.

“Absolutely love the food.”
Absolutely love the food! My go-to is the taco salad, but I tried Ely's breakfast the other day. Just as delicious! I've also enjoyed the cucumber lemonade and guacamole. I love the outside seating. The service is always excellent. We will definitely keep coming back

My family and I visited for the first time on a Saturday afternoon. The food was amazing! 🔥 Even the Horchata drink was delicious! The patio was cozy and the music was great. Our waiter was very friendly and professional and recommended the daily specials! (#KochiLoko?!) We will definitely come back again and again and tell our family and friends about El Tio Luis!

Him socializing with the customers, coming up to the table and having a conversation with us nowadays is really hard for a supervisor to be friendly y que tenga la sangre muy dulce MORE PEOPLE LIKE ELMO!!!!

They took really good care of us for our fellow Jeep members bday party. The tacos were so delicious & the salsas too. The drinks were really good, especially the mojito. Super friendly, great DJ, we had karaoke too. Very spacious and clean. Thank you so much! Highly recommend this spot for big parties and well to eat!

Fantastic food and great atmosphere. The staff were so sweet and attentive. We got the taco group meal for 4-5 (El Tablazo). Delicious and great presentation. A great treat on a hot summer day.

Enjoyed our lunch at this friendly Mexican restaurant. Interesting, tasty authentic choices. Great homemade chips and a smoky salsa. When I asked about the assortment of drinks, Jose brought a taste of each. I chose Horchata (rice water) and my husband chose Michelada (?) (sort of a red eye with a spicy/ salty rim)...both good. Our shrimp dishes (empanadas and quesadilla) were delicious and huge. The atmosphere was also special...fresh paint, polished floor and newly renewed clean bathroom. Highchair available. Very affordable and off street parking in the back.

Chicago’s Best Carne en su Jugo. A must try!!! Been to many places… but no one like Tio Luis’s Carne en su Jugo. It’s the tasty azada, and beans, everything from the bacon and radishes. You must try it!!! And ask for tortillas hechas a mano.

Great restaurant for Mexican food. The chicken flautas were great and service was excellent. I would recommend this establishment to anyone.

“Great tasting Mexican.”
Great tasting Mexican. We filled up on the chips/salsa and queso fundido but enjoyed some of our entree. Not disappointed to take the rest home to enjoy later :). I have to spinach enchiladas and my husband had one of the steak dishes. All so flavorful. Definitely ask for the variety of salsas they have. They provide a cucumber infused water which is ok. Anyways enjoy! 😎

This is a gem in the south side that I highly recommend! Their tacos and their super quesadilla de camarones are my favorite things to order! Additionally, the salsa and chips they provide for the table (for free) are alone one of the biggest reasons to return. The flavors are so on point! The people are really sweet too. I am a regular here and I hope you become one too!
